Olympia Ridge showcases new homebuilding approach enabling whole-home Wi-Fi, seamless voice control, online shopping and home automation as standard features

LAS VEGAS (July 20, 2017) – Lennar (NYSE: LEN and LEN.B), one of the nation’s largest builders, today unveiled Olympia Ridge as one of the world’s first to include Wi-Fi CERTIFIED smart homes featuring integrated automation and voice control with Amazon Alexa – all a part of Lennar’s signature Everything’s Included® approach to homebuilding. Olympia Ridge is open this weekend from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. for the public to discover state-of-the-art living in a Lennar home.

Lennar’s Wi-Fi CERTIFIED Home Design™ guarantees consistent, reliable coverage in every room of the home. This allows buyers to control a wide range of included smart products from the most innovative and reliable manufacturers – including Amazon, Baldwin, Honeywell, Kwikset, Lutron, Ring, Ruckus, Samsung and Sonos.

“There’s no doubt that people are intrigued and excited by the idea of living in a smart home that is connected and easy to control,” said Lennar Division President Joy Broddle. “But there’s an equal measure of trepidation about installation and selecting the right devices. Lennar takes the guess work out of it by curating the best brands and engineering them right into construction to create an entirely new way of living.”

Olympia Ridge is a luxury community in Southern Highlands that will be open to the public this Saturday, July 22. This community offers homeshoppers eight distinctive floor plans to choose from including three The Home Within A Home® designs. Created to accommodate multigenerational and extended families, these unique homes come with an attached suite that has its own separate entrance, living room, bedroom, bathroom and kitchenette. In total, home sizes at Olympia Ridge range approximately from 4,111 to 6,234 square feet. This weekend will be an opportunity to tour Olympia Ridge’s two model homes, which showcase Lennar’s new Wi-Fi CERTIFIED smart home technology.

During the design of Lennar Wi-Fi CERTIFIED homes, every floor plan undergoes a rigorous process that includes mapping Wi-Fi signal strength and quality – taking into consideration building materials and other factors that can affect connectivity. That determines the placement of commercial-grade Ruckus Unleashed access points that are built right into the home during construction, according to demanding standards set by the Wi-Fi Alliance, the worldwide network of companies that drives the interoperability, adoption, and evolution of Wi-Fi globally.

In addition to the significant value Lennar’s signature Everything’s Included® program already offers – such as upgraded countertops and appliances – buyers also receive a wide range of smart products from top manufacturers that change the way they live in their new home at no additional cost. For example:

“Living in a Lennar Wi-Fi CERTIFIED home design creates an experience once reserved for the technologically sophisticated – and now it’s within reach of every Lennar homebuyer at every price point,” Joy Broddle said. “We’ve engineered a home that weaves the best technology brands into daily life in ways that connect people and truly reflect how they live today.”

Lennar will celebrate the launch of their new WiFi CERTIFIED smart homes this Saturday, July 22 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Welcome Home Center, located at 8 Olympia Chase Drive in Las Vegas. For more information or complete directions visit www.lennar.com/lasvegas or call 702-821-4850.

When moving into a new house, the interior décor is one of the most important factors to ensure you feel at home. And just like fashion, design can quickly go out of style and leave you feeling like you need a change again.

To help guide you, here are seven interior design trends for 2017 that will help you make your new Lennar home just as beautiful on the inside as it is on the outside!

1. Dark Green

A dark green element in any room can make a world of difference. Having a green wall creates a wintery feel and brings in a pop of color from the outdoors that will make anyone feel instantly cozy. Whether you add a green area rug, an accent wall, or piece of furniture, it will tie the entire room together.

2. Navy Blue

Though black has long been a decorating default, designers are now enlisting navy blue for their go-to dramatic hue. When paired with bits of white, red, or yellow, it provides an especially beachy feel that fits perfectly with the South Florida style.

3. Jewel Tones

2017 calls for dramatic décor inside your home. Jewel tones inspired by metals, space, stars, clouds and the cosmos will provide some much-needed decorative excitement in your home.

4. Marble

Marble ornamentation has been all over magazines and Pinterest lately – and for good reason. Marble provides a special accent to your home. Many Lennar homes feature marble countertops as standard, to bring elegance and beauty into your life.

5. Artisanal Decorations

DIY decorations are becoming a thing of the past, and artisanal work is taking its place. Unique hand-made pieces are super trendy right now and they’ll add the necessary touch of personality to your coffee table. Find yourself a hand-blown vase or a raw white bowl to complete the room.

6. Upholstered Bedheads

Upholstered bedheads are dominating the market and will add instant glamour to your bedroom. Make this upgrade and you’ll never look back.

7. Quirky Lighting

Light fixtures are the fashion accessories for your home. Take advantage of large spaces, like your dining or living rooms, to place a statement piece that will wow your guests. And don’t forget to add some personal touches to your bedside lamps to perfect set the tone every night before you go to sleep.

Make your new home feel like your own by choosing the items from this list that speak to your soul. Personalize your decorations without making them dated, so you can enjoy them with your family for years to come.

A great way to enjoy the beautiful landscape of your new Lennar home is to take advantage of the beautiful space and do some gardening yourself. Gardening can provide you with decorative flowers or home-grown produce for your family to enjoy.

Here are 10 gardening tips that can help you get started:

1. Protect your nails

Before getting started, there is an easy trick to prevent dirt from accumulating under your fingernails while you work without gloves. If you draw your fingernails across a bar of soap, then you will seal the undersides of your nails to keep the dirt out. Once you’re finished, use a nail brush and run your hand under running water and your nails will be sparkling clean.

2. Avoid chemical-based fertilizers and pesticides

The fertilizer and pesticides you use on your lawn also seeps into your crops, and the chemicals used can cause many health problems from toxic residues when consumed. Try to stick to organic methods of gardening for healthier vegetables.

3. Alternative plant food

Gardening is an opportunity to explore new things, especially when trying to find the most efficient way to treat a crop. The next time you boil or steam vegetables, use the leftover water to feed your garden. You’ll be amazed at how the plants respond!

4. Don’t plant too much of the same thing

To prevent waste, be mindful of how much of one plant you will need to feed your entire family. Planting too much of one thing will cause over production and will take nutrients from the soil that could be used for more variety.

5. Choose crops wisely

Choose crops that will be easier to grow in the environment you are providing them. Learn if the crop will need sun or shade and plan accordingly. Check out these shade-loving plants that thrive in environments with less light.

6. Replant roots

Replanting the root from your previous crops allows for faster growth of the new crop. Using the root clippings from your early summer tomatoes will give you a beautiful early fall tomato crop.

7. Repeat your successes

Weather and soil have a large effect on the way the crops come out. You might get a wonderful harvest of basil and mint, but your tomatoes don’t come out as well as you might have hoped. Focus on repeating your successes and replant the crops you’re proudest of.

8. A smart use for your leftover tea and coffee

Leftover tea and coffee grounds acidify the soil and help acid-loving plants like camellias, gardenias and blueberries. A small amount will go a long way; it only needs to be added once a month. Additionally, chamomile tea helps control damping-off fungus which can harm the seedlings as they grow, ruining your beautiful garden.

9. Pick things at their peak

Morning harvests tend to be the juiciest, but make sure you don’t cut off the nutrient supply too early. Once you harvest, refrigerate your leafy greens to preserve them for the longest amount of time possible.

10. Make sure to include essential kitchen herbs

Culinary herbs are easy to grow and very pricey to buy; and if you don’t know how to store them, they don’t last very long.

Using these tips will help you enjoy your garden to the fullest and possibly feed your family with the healthiest ingredients. Improve your life, and your family’s, by getting your hands dirty in your own back patio.
