Fresno, Calif. – November 2018 – Lennar Central Valley celebrated a highly-successful Grand Opening a few weeks ago of the Skye Series at Sterling Acres. Once a year, Veterans Day celebrates America’s heroes who fought for freedoms we enjoy every day. The holiday commemorating our fellow citizens who served in our nation’s armed forces takes place on Nov. 11, Armistice Day, when World War I ended in 1919.
This year, America marks the 100th anniversary of the nation’s entrance into that War to End All Wars. Congress originally called the commemorative day Armistice Day, but then-President Dwight Eisenhower changed the name to Veterans Day in 1954.
That happened to be the same year Lennar was founded, and we’re proud that one of our founders, Arnold P. Rosen, served as a lieutenant in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
