Woods Cross, Utah – November 2018 – Lennar is excited to bring their line of multigenerational home designs, Next Gen® – The Home Within A Home®, to Utah for the first time at Shamrock Village. Shamrock Village is a new single-family home community coming soon to the city of Wood Cross, with plans to Grand Open early next year.

“This is a very exciting new chapter for us as Lennar Utah,” said Dave Prolo, Division President for Lennar Utah. “Multigenerational homes were something we were unable to offer as Candlelight Homes. Now, since our merger with Lennar, we’re thrilled to bring Next Gen® to the area. It’s no secret the Utahans have big, close families, so Next Gen® homes are sure to be a hit.”

Lennar first introduced their line of Next Gen® homes in 2011 as a direct response to the rise in multigenerational living across the country. Typically defined as three generations or more living together under the same roof, the trend has only risen in popularity nationwide since Next Gen®’s inception.

The Next Gen® home at Shamrock Village will come with an attached private suite that features its own separate entrance, living room, bedroom, bathroom, kitchenette and attached garage. The Next Gen® suite is able to function as a home within itself, but also shares an interior, lockable door that connects it to the main home, allowing for as much direct access or privacy between the two homes as is desired. The suite has become a popular home for aging parents, grown children in college, millennials looking to save for a down payment, or grandparents who help with childcare.

At Shamrock Village, the Next Gen® home will be one of five distinctive floorplans available in the new community. Homes are anticipated to be priced starting from the low $400,000s.

Lennar has received widespread media attention and coverage on their revolutionary home design, appearing in major media outlets such as The New York Times, LA Times, Forbes, CBS, ABC, Bloomberg, The Wall Street Journal and many more.

Is home ownership one of your 2019 goals? Saving for a home down payment may seem impossible to do during the holiday season due to all the continuous expenses. Jolly home decor, gifts for everyone on your list, holiday travel, winter clothing for the growing kids are just a few of the many expenses you may face. Although, saving money can be challenging this time of year it is not impossible. Follow these money saving tips to reach your new home goal.

Stay Home

If you are serious about purchasing a brand new home in 2019, consider staying home this holiday season. Although it might seem like a major sacrifice not flying over to reunite with loved ones for the holidays, doing so will save you hundreds of dollars on travel expenses. Not only will you save money on overpriced airplane tickets, but you won’t feel pressured into buying gifts for everyone you would have seen on your trip.

Host Smarter, Not Harder

If you usually host a party during the holidays, consider organizing a potluck versus a formal sit down dinner this year. A potluck will save you cash because the expenses will be divided amongst all the attendees. As a bonus, you will also save on hours of labor in the kitchen. When it comes to holiday decorations, rather than purchasing new items, reuse your stuff from previous years. Besides, you’ll probably enjoy shopping for decor more once you are in a beautiful new home.

Secret Santa

Save money on gifts this year and suggest doing a secret Santa gift exchange with your family and friends. Each person will only be responsible for buying one gift within a specific budget, which takes off most of the gift shopping stress. During the party everyone will be able to take turns opening their gift and while trying to guess who their Secret Santa was. It’s a classic and fun activity that is guaranteed to make everyone merry.

Get Creative with Entertainment

Entertainment can be expensive. Constantly going out to dinner, shopping, movies, and more can really put a strain on your wallet during the holidays. This year the whole family can put effort and focus on spending more quality time together by enjoying cost free activities. Here are a few ideas:

Florida is one of few places fortunate enough experience warm weather all year long, the perfect place to escape the harsh winters of the north. If you ever feel nostalgic for the holidays up north or imagined your children experiencing the season in the classic Norman Rockwell way you’ll be pleased to know there is a Winter Village right here in Tampa.

Winter Village in Curtis Hixon Park offers all the spirit and classic festivities of the season without the brutally cold weather and the unpleasant chores that come with a white Christmas up north. Starting November 16th, you’ll discover a little winter village along the Tampa River Walk “with the sights, sounds, and activities of the holidays for children and adults of all ages.”

Visitors to the Winter Village can enjoy activities like ice skating at the outdoor rink and the Winter Village Express, a themed streetcar traveling through the city offering treats, music and more for all who climb aboard. You can even do your Christmas and Hannukkah shopping at Winter Village’s curated collection of local boutiques and artisan pop-ups which offer decorative goods, apparel, handmade toys, jewelry, dog accessories, and more! And finally, no festive winter experience is complete without a hot cocoa and grilled cheese at the village’s cafe.

In addition to all the activities offered daily at Winter Village, there are several special events happening throughout the season such as the Tampa Theatre Winter Classics, City of Tampa Tree Lighting, Santa Fest, Winter Wonderland onbikes, and a Lighted Boat Parade. If anything, Tampa’s warm weather offers MORE of an opportunity for spirited play and holiday festivities.

With Tampa’s Winter Village you get all the perks of the season without the dreaded cold and the added bonus of the view of the river and the downtown skyline – Tampa residents must have made the nice list this year to get a gift like this!
