The much-anticipated basketball pre-season has arrived, and your favorite teams are going head-to-head before the official games begin. Whether you’re a die-hard sports fanatic or simply love having friends over, pre-season excitement is the perfect excuse to throw a party! Lennar homes across Miami-Dade County are well equipped to host impressive gatherings and cozy get-togethers, with convenience and comfort you’ll soon wonder how you lived without. Setting you up for success with the ultimate homeowner “alley-oop”, Wi-Fi CERTIFIED™ home designs are standard in every home we build, delivering unsurpassed connectivity so you never miss a free-throw –– even when your team does. With move-in ready homes available in many shapes and sizes, there’s plenty of room to celebrate, your way.

To get the ball rolling (pun, intended) you’ll need to select a space that will host your guests comfortably. Landmark in Doral offers condos and townhomes with living areas ideal for small gatherings of 8-10 people, and open-concept floorplan designs that will quickly illuminate their functionality. Fewer walls mean flexible living, allowing you to pull in extra furniture to accommodate guests and ensure ample space for buzzer beater celebrations without the crash landings – no party fouls on your watch! Landmark’s chef-inspired kitchens are conveniently tucked near the common areas, so you can quickly move from your seat to the pantry to re-stock the snacks without missing a play. Some condo floorplans also include a covered terrace, perfect for a charcoal grill to whip up some burgers and sausages for the full game day experience.

If your immediate fan base is a bit too big (or passionate) for your living room, move the fun to Landmark’s resort-style clubhouse, which offers a grand social room exclusively available to residents and makes for a great party space. Perhaps one of its most distinctive amenities, Landmark offers Lennar’s only open-air amphitheater in any Miami-Dade community for outdoor entertainment on breezy South Florida nights. Just pack a few coolers with sandwiches, chips, a veggie platter and drinks, and let the game do the rest.

For those planning to host far more than just a pre-season kickoff, consider Campo Bello’s new single-family homes in South Miami-Dade. With prices from the upper $300s and a minimum of 2,417 air-conditioned square footage, you will certainly have plenty of space to cheer on your team. If your family prefers casual meals at home and doesn’t need a formal dining room, the Flora’s combined living-dining area could easily be converted into a grown-up game room, featuring a media console and large sectional couch, because let’s face it: for some of us, being home in PJs with the kids and a good game is our kind of party. Whether pre-season or playoffs, this home will surely render itself better than any sports bar showing the game tonight, and sans the bathroom lines.

A third new home community ideal for watching sports at home is AquaBella – particularly, the new townhomes offered in its coveted Blossom Collection. Offering attainable prices from the mid $300s and some of the best homesite locations in the community, your new townhome will be a short walk from Club AquaBella, the perfect backdrop for your pre-season soirée. Before the game starts, escort your guests to the grand lakeside clubhouse, throw some skewers onto the outdoor grilling station and mingle under the covered terraces. With hungry bellies and high hopes, head to the party room and enjoy the game, or head back at half-time to see it through in the comfort of your Blossom townhome.

As a new homebuyer, your winning three-point shot awaits in one of Lennar’s Miami-Dade communities. Visit a Lennar Welcome Home Center this weekend to score big and save thousands on a new, move-in ready home during our Hurry Home Sales Event, with thousands in savings available in all three of these desirable communities! We look forward to helping you win the homebuying game.

Hi! My name is Sam and I’m eight years old. I live in a townhome in an awesome place named AquaBella, which really feels more like a vacation than home most days! It has two pools, a humongous lake, and I even get my own room, which means I don’t have to share with my little brother Tommy anymore. When mom showed me the new home when she bought it, she said it’s part of what they call the Blossom collection here – it has two floors, lots of space, a garage, and… oh… that’s mom calling now… coming!

I head downstairs and mom’s waiting for me with my favorite breakfast: chocolate pancakes and scrambled eggs… sweet! Sometimes we eat outside and watch the birds on our patio, but today, mom wants us to eat at the table, so I help her set up the plates. Lately I keep hearing her talk to my Aunt Maria on the phone about how Everything’s Included® in AquaBella, and she didn’t have to buy a new fridge or redo the counters like the last time we moved. I wasn’t supposed to hear this, but she even said that now, we might be able to take a trip to Disney World this year!

The coolest part of our new home is, it’s smart! We have this machine and, I know it sounds crazy, but my dad tells me there’s a little woman named Alexa who got shrunk by aliens and lives in there. I’m pretty sure Alexa is the smartest lady in the world, I can ask her almost anything and she knows so fast!

Hey Alexa, how long does it take to get to the moon?

And, she just tells me. It’s crazy. Alexa knows way more than mom and dad, that’s for sure, and they’re “supposably” adults.

Dad says his favorite part of living here is our Wi-Fi CERTIFIED™ home design, which means he can make it colder or hotter from his phone without mom noticing. She’s always cold and he’s always hot, so he tries to be sneaky about it. I actually need to learn how that works so I can change the temperature back for her. After all, she’s the one who makes my chocolate pancakes!

Even though I wish I could stay home all day, I can’t wait to see my friend Lucy at school today. She lives in another really cool home at a place called Siena Estates, but hers is ‘specially awesome because her grandparents get to stay with her all year long! Her mom and dad work a lot, so they need help with taking Lucy home from school most days, so they made sure the home was big enough for everybody. The last time I went over after school, Lucy showed me their part of the home. It’s called a Next Gen® suite (almost like they have a mini home inside Lucy’s) with their own kitchen, living room, and two gigantic rooms. Lucy says she likes to sleep in there sometimes so she can be the first one to eat grandma’s biscuits in the morning, and sneak one into her backpack for me, too!

As much as seeing Lucy’s home is fun, I think she usually likes coming to mine more, because we can go to the awesome clubhouse by the lake and play. On the days Tommy picks the activity, we go to the tot lot, but today it’s my turn to choose, so we’re going to the kid’s water park. None of my friends have this at their home, which makes me feel pretty special that my parents moved us here. Have you ever gotten soaked by a bunch of tipping buckets? It’s the best feeling ever! Once my fingers get too pruny, I like to watch the ducks and search for lizards (I’m this close to catching my very first one!) before we go back home.

On the weekends, we like to visit my Uncle Roger. He lives in Urbana and his home has four floors, plus his own elevator! How COOL is that! There’s even a media room so me and my cousins can play video games and watch movies while the adults go talk on the balcony – sounds boring to me, but they really do love to talk.Urbana has a big clubhouse too, so Uncle Roger always takes us to play in the pool while aunt Maria and my mom go to the exercise room. I just looove jumping into the pool and racing my cousins – I usually win! – and, if it’s too hot outside, we play Horse in the basketball court inside the clubhouse (I usually win that too!)

My life’s pretty good, I’ve got everything I wished for! And, ever since we moved, mom and dad seem happier, too. They love these Lennar people, whoever they are. I guess they’re a big deal around here because even my neighbors talk about them, and Lucy’s neighbors, too. Maybe one day, I’ll get to meet them and…oops, mom’s calling again… it’s bedtime! Gotta go!

At last, the temperature is dropping – and Floridians statewide are celebrating even the shortest stints of relief from the summer heat. With less humidity and cooler nights, any excuse for a light jacket means that it’s finally time to welcome the fall season. Whether you’re heading outdoors, or it’s still not cool enough for you to venture out, Lennar’s Broward communities are designed for maximum comfort and fun, allowing your family to indulge in the long-awaited fall season right at home. Cleared pathways, spacious patios, and exclusive amenities are just some of the perks you’ll discover this fall in your new Wi-Fi CERTIFIED™ Lennar home.

As the days become crisper, a cozy evening indoors may be just what you need to get yourself into the autumn spirit. At The Edge on 15th in Fort Lauderdale, all townhomes include Connected Home Technology for unsurpassed connectivity –– simply ask Alexa to turn the thermostat off and begin enjoying the start of “open window season” and watch as your electric bill starts to dwindle month after month. Every townhome offers an open concept floorplan design, complete with expansive living areas that’ll have cool air flowing throughout your entire home in no time. A refreshing breeze paired with your kids’ favorite Halloween movie might almost make you forget you live in beautiful South Florida! And as Halloween nears, your private patio features ample room for seating, so you can invite the neighbors over for a pumpkin carving contest!

Getting ready for Halloween

When you’re looking to take advantage of the few-and-far-between cold fronts of October, head over to The Edge on 15th’s pool cabana that’s not solely focused on cooling down – how refreshing! Lower temperatures and a reduced UV index mean the kids will be able to race in the swimming pool to their heart’s content while you lounge on the sundeck areas, drinking a pumpkin spice latté – still iced, though… after all, it’s not that cold.

For those who want to celebrate the balmy weather with something more over-the-top, Cascata at MiraLago is a waterfront community of estate homes in Parkland with amenities comparable to that of a luxury resort. Only minutes from home, you will have access to two grand clubhouses, which offer plenty of excitement to complement the perfect weather conditions. Adjacent to the stunning aquamarine pool, the kid’s water park will be a toddler’s dream with its tipping buckets and colorful slides. In addition, the surrounding lounge areas will give you a first-class seat to enjoying those chillier days under the palm trees. And, while the fitness center is great for an indoor workout, the drop in temperature may inspire you to visit the outdoor tennis or basketball courts for an invigorating game.

With a break from the high temperatures, you may also consider hosting an outdoor party at home. Now selling in the city of Pembroke Pines, the new townhomes at Tuscan Pines will contain spacious patios ideal for get-togethers with family and friends. All floorplans will include first-floor layouts centered around the kitchen, each well equipped with stainless steel appliances and cabinets in designer colors as part of Lennar’s Everything’s Included® package. Before the guests arrive, you’ll be able to whip up a few of your favorite fall staples, such as roasted pork, sweet potato mash, or even apple pie before enjoying the fruits of your labor alfresco.

On days that warrant quieter celebrations of the fall season, a stroll through Tuscan Pines will allow you to fully experience the fresh ambiance. Sidewalks and trails will be flanked with trees, offering the perfect scenery for riding bikes after school or enjoying a brisk walk with loved ones. The future pool pavilion will also boast a relaxing setting with a covered patio, so your family can spend breezy afternoons by the water.

With cooler days ahead, there’s no better place to celebrate than in a brand-new Lennar home! The outdoor areas and high-quality features are endless, allowing all residents to enjoy autumn to the fullest. Perhaps this fall, everything will fall into place for you, too. Come visit one of our Lennar Welcome Home Centers and save thousands on your new home before the year ends.

Eliminating clutter and organizing your walk-in closet can save time, reduce stress, and improve efficiency as well as your mood. Go about the project relaxed and methodically, and you’ll be breezing through your morning routine and looking fabulously coordinated before you know it. As Benjamin Franklin famously said, “every minute spent organizing, an hour is earned.”

Here are our top seven tips for organizing your walk-in closet:

Clear Out Your Closet

Don’t spend time organizing things you don’t need. Once a year or even once a season, dedicate an hour or two to cleaning out your closet. Donate items to charity if they no longer fit, are out of fashion or if they “no longer bring you joy,” as Marie Kondo says. If you haven’t worn an item in the last year – donate it. If it has holes, is stained, or is stretched out – throw it away. If it’s new(ish) or still has tags on it – try selling it to a consignment shop. Less stuff will make organizing tips two through seven much easier.

Separate By Style

Once your closet is completely emptied, and you’re left with only the items you wear and love, you can begin organizing. Start by separating your clothes into categories – dress shirts, pants, skirts, jeans, socks, swimwear, shoes, etc. Taking inventory of what you have will make it easier to create a custom organization plan.

Customize, Customize, Customize

Choose a design or arrange compartments, shelves, racks, and drawers to accommodate your items. How you choose to display and organize your items will depend on your lifestyle, and your existing closet space. For example, if you’re a shoe collector, you may opt to display your prized possessions on horizontal shelves up the length of the wall. But if you only own the basics, a small rack on the floor will do the trick. Think about what you own and organize accordingly.

Organize According to Use

Once you’ve established your closet’s design, you can begin to put things in their perfect place. We recommend starting from the top.  This fall season, store your swimsuits, beach towels, sandals, and summer dresses – this helps to stay organized and maximize space throughout the seasons.  In the summer, you can store your winter hats, jackets, gloves, and boots in bins on the top shelf since you won’t need to access them regularly.

Utilize Adjustable Shelves and Hanging Rods

Adjustable shelves and hanging rods can be customized to fit your wardrobe and utilize dead space. Items like jeans, bulky sweaters, t-shirts, and athletic wear can be folded according to the KonMari Folding Method seen here, and placed on shelves by category. Place tops on the top shelves and pants on the bottom shelves. Shoe shelves can also be adjusted to accommodate everything from tall boots to flat sandals. Hanging rods should also be modified according to the clothes you own. Measure the length of your tops and bottoms on hangers and place rods accordingly.

Clever & Creative Hacks

Make Marie proud by going above and beyond. These space-saving and visually appealing techniques will please even the most type-A personality.

Take It to the Next Level

Create a space that makes you feel like a king or queen every time you step inside. A full-length mirror, elegant light fixture, small area rug, or decorative wallpaper will have you feeling like royalty and make the process of getting ready for the day much more fun.

The rainy summers of Florida have gone away for the year, which means the lush, thick greens of your yard may soon look a little bit thinner and browner as your grass dries up. This blog is your guide to maintaining a healthy-looking lawn all year long, even in a dry fall. With these tips, your yard will stay healthy, your flower beds will pop, and the grass will always be greener on your side of the fence.

Maintaining a Lush Lawn

When the daily rains of Florida’s summers come to an end, your grass will be quick to respond. The miniature jungles taking over your yard every week will stop fighting back against the lawnmower and seem to shrink. This happens because of a combination of two things: heavy rainfall suddenly stopping, and sunny afternoons sticking around. This pairing is the perfect recipe for rapidly drying out your grass.

To fix this, pick up some sprinklers and connect your garden hose to them, spreading them evenly over the yard. Run sprinklers in the evening when you get home from work. If you run them in the morning, you can invite fungus to grow, which is damaging to the grass you’re trying to save. If you run the sprinklers in the afternoon, the heat of the day will dry the water out before the plant life can absorb it. Watering your grass at night makes sure it goes where it’s meant to.

Another factor to consider in making your grass as green as possible is the amount of sunlight it’s getting. If it seems like it’s been well watered, but isn’t looking as green as you think it should be, look up. All that rain goes to more than just your grass! A tree in your yard can grow a thick enough canopy to adequately block sunlight from reaching the lawn itself, so stay on top of having the branches trimmed to guarantee every part of your yard gets enough sun.

Focus on a Flowerbed

If you want to add some serious curb appeal to your home, the easiest way there is through a flowerbed. A flowerbed in your front yard will serve two purposes: beautify the space for yourself when you get home from work, and show off your personality to your neighbors.

Coming home from any day at work, good or bad, can always be made better when you see a flowerbed blooming to greet you. Maintaining a flowerbed takes only a little bit of work at a time if you’re staying on top of it, and offers an excuse to spend some time outdoors, which can do wonders for your body.

A great benefit of a flowerbed is the ability to have an understated personalization of your yard. Show off the spice in your personality with some soft pink snapdragons, which bloom in the fall and thrive in full sun. If you want something even more vibrant, firebush is a bright red-blossoming shrub that looks great in flowerbeds and around the border of your home.

From cutting back on the foliage already growing in your yard, to making the space feel more like yours by adding new blooms, there’s a lot of different branches you can go down when it comes to maintaining and beautifying your lawn.
