It’s that time of year when temperatures soar, retail prices drop, and excitement is at an all-time high. It’s back to school time in Northeast Florida. For mom, it’s a nice reprieve from endless hours frantically saying, “Don’t touch that”, or “Be Careful”, and keeping the children entertained. It’s also the perfect time to sneak in a quick summer vacation right before school starts.
As Floridians, we are in the unique position of living where most people come to vacation. If you’re from here, you may take that for granted, but if you moved here from out of state, you may understand. You may have had a decent job in Chicago, but reached your breaking point with winter (which can last 5 months). Maybe you took a better job in Florida and reaped the benefits of not having to pay state income tax. Whatever the case may be, The Sunshine State has something for everyone, and we want you to put Northeast Florida on your back to school list.
When you take the kids shopping for back to school supplies, you get the normal, run of the mill list distributed by the school based upon the grade level your child will be entering. Then, you take the kids to their favorite clothing store to pick out the perfect wardrobe. You might think you’re done, but what about where you live?
Jacksonville and St. Augustine have some phenomenal schools. Lennar communities are, by and large, located in fantastic school districts, like St. John’s county schools which are consistently ranked at the very top in terms of quality public schools. There are private options as well.
Where you live says something about you, and having the type of space in your home that’s conducive to learning is something to consider when purchasing a home. Lennar homes are spacious with lots of natural light, and with enough privacy for your young scholar to produce high-quality school work. If you think of it that way, maybe your home is the most important back to school supply you can provide your child.
The new school year starts in St. John’s County on August 10th and in Duval County on the 24th.
