Spring is just around the corner, so it’s a great time to start thinking about what flowers to plant now, to enjoy through the summer! Depending on the specifics of your community, your Lennar home came with extensive landscaping, minimal landscaping, or something in between. Daylilies– Add these easy sun-loving perennials to bloom in almost any kind of soil, as long as it drains easily. They’ve been known to thrive up in Minnesota, all the way down to Florida. Best of all, you can divide them after a time and expand your garden.
Morning Glories– These little beauties are strong climbers and spread easily, so be careful where you plant them or you can end up with more morning glories than you bargained for! To help control unwanted seedlings, mow, rake or heavily mulch the ground underneath the plants.
Cosmos– They look like colorful daisies and are sure to boost your mood. These annuals are so easy going, they’ll bloom even in poor soils. They like full sun (but appreciate afternoon shade in hot climates) and can tolerate drought once they’re up and growing.
Sunflowers– Sunflower seeds are large and easy to handle, so they’re great for teaching children how to garden or beginner gardeners. You can find sunflowers in many different sizes and colors; they grow happily in sunny gardens.
Roses– When I think of roses, I think of romance, which is why it’s perfect for gardens that need some love. There are so many varieties out there, but shrub roses are where you should start. Plant your roses in a sunny location with good drainage.

The largest single contribution to City of Hope Orange County will establish Lennar Foundation Cancer Center to accelerate the vision of eradicating cancer and creating healthier communities.
World-renowned cancer research and treatment center City of Hope has received a $50 million gift from Lennar Foundation, the charitable arm of homebuilder Lennar Corporation. This transformational gift of hope is the largest single philanthropic contribution to City of Hope Orange County. It will expedite the health care organization’s bold plans to invest $1 billion to develop and operate a comprehensive cancer campus in Irvine, California, and establish an Orange County network of advanced cancer care and research that will speed groundbreaking treatments directly to a community with growing needs.
The future 190,000-square-foot Lennar Foundation Cancer Center at City of Hope Orange County will be located on 11 acres at Five Point’s Great Park in the heart of Irvine. It will bring best-in-class cancer care, pioneering research and lifesaving treatments to the county’s 3.2 million residents. Construction is already underway on the comprehensive cancer center, which will open in 2022. In addition, Orange County’s only hospital dedicated exclusively to treating and curing cancer will open at City of Hope Irvine in 2025.
City of Hope’s presence in Orange County offers local access to City of Hope’s National Cancer Institute-designated comprehensive cancer center with world-renowned cancer physicians and researchers who are singularly focused on finding better treatments and cures.
