This Valentine’s Day, skip the overpriced candy, flowers and takeout. Instead, give your loved ones the sweetest gift: a beautiful and stylish Lennar home. Not only is everything completely new, it also offers plenty of space to live, work and play. With a variety of communities and modern floorplans to choose from, as well as historically low interest rates available now, finding your perfect match has never been easier.

Here are just a few reasons you’ll love life in your new Lennar home:

Love looks like an open floorplan & stunning kitchen

Who says spending time at home can’t be fun? Our new home designs showcase open layouts that bring together the most important spaces in our home: the Great Room, dining room and of course, the kitchen. Enjoy a larger feel, an abundance of natural light, layout flexibility and a unified space that opens endless opportunities for new memories at home. For example, movie nights are easier when you can refill snacks without missing a scene – or if you’re in the kitchen making dinner and can easily supervise the kids in the living room. For entertainment, family time or simply relaxing, you’ll love the convenience an open floorplan brings.

Love means Everything’s Included® with no dead spots

Ever toured a model home, fallen in love with the kitchen countertops only to find out they are an add-on feature? Not with Lennar. Every new Lennar home features their signature Everything’s Included® program, where popular appointments and upgrades are simply included as standard. From contemporary appliances, energy-efficient technology, designer-selected cabinetry, luxury countertops, home automation and more, all come included at no extra cost.

Plus, if you’re working from home or the kids love to stream, every home includes eero’s wifi guarantee, which offers the latest wifi technology to deliver faster speeds, higher performance and better support for simultaneously connected devices throughout your home. *

Love is flexible

Working from home. Working out from home. Learning from home. We’re doing just about everything at home now, which means we’re finding ourselves utilizing living spaces in ways we’ve never done before. Ditch your dining room table office and buy a home that provides flexible spaces, like a den, loft or even an entire suite. Select communities feature our popular Next Gen® – The Home Within A Home® plan, which provides a private suite attached to the main home with its own separate entrance, living area with kitchenette, bedroom and bathroom. Transform this space into anything your distinctive lifestyle requires, or use it for doubling up with loved ones, like aging parents.

Love fantastic locations

Whether you’re looking to live within close proximity to a thriving metro area or love the small-town charm rural cities bring, Lennar builds new home communities in desirable locations. Not that you’ll ever want to leave your new Lennar home, but no matter where you put down your roots, you’re never far away from exciting recreational opportunities, great shopping, restaurants, entertainment and more.

Virtual tours, Lennar-guided tours and Self-Guided Tours are available at select Lennar communities, so start your search today at www.Lennar.com and get ready to fall in love at first homeSITE!

Equal Housing Opportunity

Congratulations on your bundle of joy! Once you have moved into your new Lennar home to accommodate your growing family, setting up the nursery is probably high on your to do list. There are endless photos online you can browse through to get decorating inspiration, but we want to focus on the basics to help make sure you are prepared for your new arrival.

Here are a few tips for setting up your nursery.

Plan your furniture. Look at the room and plan where the furniture will go. Babies don’t need a lot of space, so start with the essential furniture: a place for baby to sleep, a place for changing diapers,  a place to sit, and a place for storage. If the room allows, you can also think about a place for baby to play, and additional storage options or décor. The goal is to create a functional space that makes baby and parents happy. Avoid placing the crib by the window so that the light won’t disturb the baby’s sleep. Know the room’s measurements before purchasing furniture to make sure the furniture will fit.

Have everything you need within arm’s reach. You never want to be too far away from your little one, so make sure you have what you need close by and easily accessible. For example: think through the baby changing process and what is needed. Typically, you’ll need clean diapers, wipes, and cream. Your diaper pail should be right next to the changing station. And in case of a blowout (this WILL happen!) you’ll need clean clothes and the hamper near by as well. This is for your convenience, but also for the baby’s safety.

Create a comfortable place for yourself to nurse/feed. You’ll be spending a lot of time feeding the baby, so make sure you have a comfortable place to do so. You can’t go wrong with a rocking chair, since babies love to fall asleep to that rocking motion. But there are many options out there to choose from, so you’ll be sure to find one that fits your needs and style.

nursery tips

Have a system for storage and organization. Babies come with a lot of stuff! If you’re going to stay on top of it all, you’re going to need a plan. You should have the things you will use right away stored where it will be easy to grab. Then designate a place for everything else. Have an area to store extra diapers, wipes, garbage bags and other supplies. Organize the baby’s clothes by size, and store the larger sizes out of the way until needed. Have a box or bag for clothes that are deemed too small, and once it becomes full, wash the clothes, label them and store them away.

Keep your baby safe. Baby may not be able to move around the room much at first, but that day comes sooner than you realize! So go ahead and baby proof the room now to put your mind at ease. Anchor the furniture, cover the outlets, and secure anything that baby can grab. You’ll also want to set up a baby monitoring system. Since Lennar homes have been heat map engineered to ensure there are no wifi dead spots in your home, you can confidently set up your monitoring system to keep an eye on your child at any given time.

Once you have your essential items, you can move on to the décor items such as lighting and pictures. As your baby grows, their needs may change, and you can shift and change the room with it. Moving into a new home can be exciting yet overwhelming to new owners and their pets. There’s so much to do and see in your new location, but it’s important to try and settle in first – for you and your furry friends.

Looking for a pet-friendly, 55+ community? Take a look at Avalon Trails in Delray Beach. These single-family homes are specially designed to accommodate the varied needs and lifestyles of today’s 55+ community. Plus, an array of resort-style amenities located on-site provide countless social and recreational activities to make your days as relaxing or active as you desire!

Here are a few tips to help make your new home pet-friendly!

Safety First

Keeping your pet safe should be your first concern when relocating. It’s important to secure the perimeter of the yard if your dogs are going to be spending time outside. Cats tend to be more alert and skittish when moving into an unfamiliar place, so to help them adjust, try and keep them confined to one room at first. Once they seem more relaxed, gradually open the rest of the home for them to explore.

Unpack Familiar Items

Help your pets feel more at home by unpacking familiar objects, such as their beds and toys. Putting these items in common areas of the home, where they can easily come across them, will help make them comfortable with the space. Decluttering your spaces will also help them find their own cozy corner or window perch where they can feel safe and sound.

Make Your New Home Pet-Friendly

Establish a Routine

Place food and water bowls in an area that is accessible to your pets and not just thrown about or constantly changing. By keeping bowls in the same location, and making a regular feeding schedule, your pet will feel more calm. It’s also a good idea to devote plenty of time to walking, exercising, and playing to help nervous dogs and cats burn off extra energy.

Get to Know the Neighborhood

Taking your dog for a walk helps them get a lay of the land and start to feel connected to their new territory. Typically, outdoor cats should have some supervision on their first few outings to make sure they know where home base is. Being out with your pets not only helps them, but you as well, with getting to know your area and neighbors.

Research the Local Area

If you’re used to taking your furry friend out with you, get to know pet-friendly spots in your local area and scope out nearby pet stores and dog parks. Also, knowing where the nearest vet is and local vaccine rules can help you be prepared in case of an emergency and help keep your pet happy and healthy.

By following these tips, your pets should feel comfortable in your new home in no time! However, remember that no matter where you move, to your pet, home is wherever you are.

Explore the Newest Trends in Interior Design

One of the most evolving trends is to bring the outdoors in with natural elements. Using wood accents and furniture with neutral tones brings an earthy feeling into the space. Focusing on eco-friendly living is another trend that not only benefits homeowners, but the environment as well. Easily opt for green features such as LED lighting, energy-efficient windows, or repurposed materials that can also look and feel, clean and modern.

Expert Insights from Lennar's Interior Pros

Classic Trends Are Making a Comeback

If your home is starting to feel a little plain, these classic trends can breathe new life into your space. Wainscoting wall details add charm to any room and things like vintage lighting and Herringbone patterns can add a lot of character. Wallpaper has also come a long way, with a multitude of pattern options to give any homeowner their dream look.

Play With Color in Your Home

Adding more color in your home doesn’t necessarily mean painting the walls. You can easily add pops of color throughout your space with pillows, rugs, flowers, or artwork. If you’re looking to paint your walls, try creating an accent wall or a backdrop, for featured items like a bed or built-in cabinets.

Create a Stylish and Comfortable Outdoor Space

A well-decorated outdoor space can become the most comfortable living area in the home! Create a relaxing lounge area with outdoor rugs and ambient lantern lighting, or make the outdoors a place you can gather and entertain by adding a built-in BBQ or wet bar.

Many of these features and ideas can be found in Lennar home designs! Hopefully these insights inspire you to spruce up your own home like an interior pro.

With more time being spent at home this past year, and many families having to adapt to recent lifestyle changes such as working/learning from home, it’s a great time to put down firm roots in a new Lennar home. While there are many things to consider when beginning your new-home journey, setting a budget should be at the top of the list- which is why we’ve put together these tips to help you start budgeting for your new Lennar home.

Understand Spending Patterns

It’s important to have a strong understanding of exactly how much money you’re earning and how much you’re spending, so you can develop a clear picture of your budgeting capabilities. There are so many ways to track your hard-earned dollars, from online tools, to old-school spreadsheets, to modern apps, which can help you stick to a reasonable budget for your needs. By keeping track of your spending patterns over the course of a few months, you can also start to identify opportunities to save more money for your new Lennar home.

Mindful Spending Habits

While it may seem obvious, cutting extra spending is far easier said than done. This doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy a few drinks on the weekend or order takeout now and then, but you should examine to what degree you could reduce the volume. It may be helpful to create a spreadsheet of all the expenses you could potentially live without, such as subscription services, and also examine methods for obtaining discounts on everything from daily conveniences to car insurance.

budgeting for a new home

Establish Savings Account

Want to really create your own personal homeowner piggybank? Set up a homeownership savings account! Establish automatic deposits into this account so that you know you’re building up your dream-home savings, and be sure that it fits within your budget. By creating a separate account, you are not only setting clear goals for yourself, but establishing clear channels to bring your dream to fruition.

Monitor Credit Score

It’s critical to make sure your credit score and history is in top condition when purchasing a new home. It’s incredibly easy to dive in with a free credit report, which will help you understand how much credit you’re using compared to what’s available, along with your credit history, including the number of times you’ve applied for new credit.

Your new Lennar home journey should be an exciting one, so don’t get too overwhelmed or discouraged if your financial situation isn’t exactly where you want it to be. There are so many great methods and tools for tracking and improving your spending habits, and establishing a firm budget that makes your new-home goals attainable.
