Now that your home is adorned with strands of garland and poinsettias, it’s time for family, games, and fun! A house becomes a home when friends and family gather together to make lasting memories. Fill your home with love and laughter this holiday season with these five Christmas party games!
1. The saran wrap ball game.
This classic can be modified to be played a few ways, but basically it consists of having several presents wrapped into a large saran wrapped ball. The person starts unwrapping while the individual to their left rolls five dice, until they roll doubles. Once they roll doubles – the ball is passed to the next person along with the dice and repeat. It’s an active game that demands urgency. Just wrap up some prizes in plastic wrap and watch everyone go crazy!

2. Candy Cane Hook Game.
This unique race has been made popular in recent years and makes for the perfect holiday game because it brings out everyone’s competitive side – but it’s also so silly that it will have everyone laughing. Similar to bobbing for apples, this game is hooking as many candy canes as you can during a timed period. Start with the straight end in your mouth, then see how many canes you can hook in one minute. The winner who connects the most – gets a prize.
3. Holiday movie trivia.
It’s easy to create some questions about some of your favorite holiday movies, such as Elf, A Christmas Story, It’s a Wonderful Life, Home Alone, The Holiday, The Grinch – the list is enormous. Once you have your questions created, simply split your guests into two or more teams and see which one has the answers the fastest. Make a bonus points list Christmas movies gone wrong!

4, Pin the nose on the… reindeer!
This is a great one for gatherings with small children. Just like the old classic pin the tail on the donkey – but with a cute holiday twist. It’s simple, but timeless and definitely a silly way to celebrate.
5. LRC – left, right, center.
You can get a special LRC dice online and then play with a big circle of people. All that’s needed to start is 3 $1 bills. Then, each person rolls the dice and if it lands on an L, you give a dollar to your left, a R, a dollar to the right, a C a dollar to the center. Last person standing wins the whole pot!

6. Christmas ornament guessing game.
Have you ever seen a large jar full of jelly beans where people write in their estimate of how many are in the jar, and the person who guesses the closest amount wins? Well this is just like that. Only instead, have your guests guess how many ornaments are on the tree – the winner takes home a special gift.
A new year means exciting new home trends to fall in love with! The best part about interior design is that it lets you unleash your creativity and infuse your personal style into your favorite spaces, from your kitchen to your master bedroom and everything in between. As you kick off 2020, take a look at a few of the top trends that caught our eye, and get inspired to turn your new Lennar home into your all-time dream space.
Magic Carpet Ride: Believe it or not, designers are predicting that layering rugs on top of carpets will be the hot move in 2020. This unique trend adds “interest and warmth” and catches anyone’s attention. A tone-on-tone color palette works especially best by not overwhelming the space.
Natural Beauty: Past carpet trends involved vibrant colors and bold patterns, but in the new year, it’s all about subtlety. Neutral, earth-toned colors are now making their way into homes with their stylish, subdued beauty. They also allow for funky furniture or statement pieces to truly stand out.
Let There Be Light: Nothing sets the vibe better in a bathroom than gorgeous lighting. This year, “see the light” and incorporate unique statement lighting into your most relaxing, comfortable space. Pieces like chandeliers, drum pendants, and giant floor lamps are now the move for a brighter look.
Marble Moment: In 2020, why not give the other bathrooms in your Lennar home some love? Perfect for smaller spaces, marbleized wallpaper creates a modern and elegant vibe. With this unique and trendy addition to one of your bathrooms, every guest that walks in will absolutely marvel at the marble.

Velvet Galore: Enjoyable to look at (and feel), velvet is making a sleek comeback into homes. A statement velvet piece like a sofa in your living room goes a long way, and adds a trendy touch to the space. Best of all, mix-and-match furniture makes for an irresistible, eye-catching appeal.
Flower Power: Flower fanatics, you’re in luck… Florals, particularly in your master bedroom or living room, are completely cool again. If you’ve been meaning to spruce up your favorite space, new bedding, furniture, or throws are the way to go. Flowers may not be blooming now, but they can be in your home.
Circle Game: Trends certainly come and go, and in 2020, curved furniture has come around again. You may immediately think of the 80s when you envision some of these pieces, but this year, they’re being revamped to match contemporary style and chic preferences.
Something Navy: While black and white will always reign supreme as the most classic color scheme in home design, modern kitchens are craving a little something different. Is navy the new black? This timeless color reflects elegance, understated luxury, and style like no other, and works great for your cabinets.
Perfectly Plated: You already know that open shelving is having its moment, but did you know that plate racks are now “in” as well? Whether on your countertop or mounted on a wall, a vintage plate rack is a timeless addition that packs contemporary style. Display your beautiful plateware proudly (and enjoy the convenience).
Merry and Bright: If you’re a sucker for bright colors, don’t let the minimalist trend sway you. Brightly colored tile backsplashes are now just as hot in homes as whites and neutral colors, and add so much cheer to your space. Play around with matching furniture and items, and don’t be afraid to “color outside the lines.”
There’s something uniquely satisfying about introducing a new piece of decor, color, or pattern into your Lennar home. Dust off your interior design skills and get to work on something special for your space. Cheers to a new year and new beginnings!
The best gifts around any Christmas tree are the presence of a happy family all wrapped up in each other. The second-best gifts are ones wrapped with love and care. If you want to give your friends and family gifts that are as good on the outside as they are on the inside – here are five wrapping tips sure to dazzle and bring joy to all who receive.
Whether you’re decorating your home or a gift – establishing a theme is step number one. For gift wrapping, you can either go cheerful and colorful with a fun, festive red and green wrapping paper, bows, and ribbons, or take a more sophisticated and natural approach with neutral-colored paper, twine, and a green garnish. Think of the person receiving the gift when choosing a theme – your stylish girlfriend will probably appreciate a classy gift wrap while your eight-year-old nephew would likely prefer Star Wars™ wrapping paper and a crazy ribbon.
Gift cards and cash are easy gifts to give and useful to receive, but they can be thoughtful too! The way you wrap a gift card can be sweet, entertaining, and fun! You can tuck a gift card in a stocking stuffed with candy, tie it to the hand of a stuffed animal, make money grow on trees by decorating a Christmas tree with dollar bill “ornaments,” or create a little scavenger hunt for young kids with “treasure” at the end. Get creative and have fun with it!
If your social calendar is filled with holiday parties and gatherings, you’ll want to prepare a few simple gifts to give the hosts. We’d recommend buying a few bottles of your favorite wine, one for the host of each party, and wrapping it in a cute and reusable wine carrier. A wine carrier can be a gift bag with tissue, something you make yourself, or a festive, homemade or personalized item found on Etsy. Having a few of these ready will make the holiday season feel a bit more relaxed and streamlined.
Themed hampers make for an excellent gift for White Elephant or Yankee Swap gift exchanges, for clients, or neighbors. You can create thoughtful pet-themed hampers for people with fur babies, or a cooking-themed hamper with a cookbook and gourmet food items, or a sports-themed basket filled with fan gear! Get creative, keep the gift receiver in mind, and have fun with creating this thoughtful gift.
If you want to give your gift wrapping a sentimental touch and show the receiver how much you care – we have a quick, easy solution for you. Simply find a photo of you and the person you’re gifting, print it out, and incorporate it into the wrapping. You can use this as the card and write a little message on the back, or add it to the package.
It’s easy to get wrapped up in the gift-giving madness of the holiday season and feel a bit overwhelmed. It happens to the best of us! Just don’t forget to relax, take a deep breath, and remember what the holidays are all about – family, friends, and joy. You have this season in the bag – enjoy it!
