Pahrump, Nev. – December 2018 – As the nation’s leading homebuilder and Builder Magazine’s 2018 Homebuilder of the Year, Lennar is excited to announce they will be entering the Pahrump area for the first time with two new communities. Coming to Western Nevada, they will encompass exclusively single-story home designs, with one community that offers entirely Next Gen® – The Home Within A Home® plans. The highly-anticipated neighborhoods are slated to open next year.
“We’re excited to be able to offer homebuyers an amazing value for a single-story home with a three-bay garage and RV parking just an hour from the Las Vegas valley,” said Andres Vera, Lennar Land Acquisition Manager. “With Pahrump offering completed homesites, we will able to to start building homes for families at the beginning of the year in 2019.”
Two new Lennar communities will open in Pahrump next year at Pleasant Valley and at Artesia. Pleasant Valley will boast all Next Gen®, single-story plans with private suites available in two designs that range from approximately 2,136 to 2,322 square feet of living space. The community will be located just down the street from the popular Lakeside RV Park.
Lennar at Artesia will offer two single-story plans, including one Next Gen® design. Artesia will boast spacious homes, large homesites with RV parking and three-bay garages. The homes will range in size from approximately 2,289 to 2,668 square feet of living space. Situated in Southern Pahrump in the Artesia masterplan, homebuyers will enjoy access to amenities that include a dog park, walking trails, children’s play areas, a community center and other recreational opportunities.
Lennar first introduced their line of Next Gen® homes in 2011 as a direct response to the rise in multigenerational living across the country. These innovative floorplans have been incredibly popular and all provide a well-designed living environment. They include an attached private suite that functions as a home within a home. Each Next Gen® suite includes its own separate entrance, living room, bedroom, bathroom and kitchenette.
The homebuilder is also known for its signature Everything’s Included® program and approach to building new homes. Because of their national purchasing power, Lennar is able to get significantly lower costs on high-end materials and popular features and in doing so, can include them in the price of the home while passing those savings onto the homebuyer. The result is that Lennar homeowners enjoy items such as granite or quartz kitchen countertops, state-of-the-art appliances, integrated home automation and more – all at no additional cost.
As the first builder to offer a new Wi-Fi CERTIFIED™ Home Design, each has built-in wireless access points that offer commercial-strength internet connection in every room of the home. Strong Wi-Fi then pairs seamlessly with a series of integrated home automation features and technology, all of which is controlled remotely from a smart device or voice control with Amazon Alexa.
Construction on both new Lennar communities in Pahrump is underway with the model Grand Openings slated for spring 2019. For more information or to sign up for the interest list, visit www.lennar.com/lasvegas.

Give your loved ones something to remember and host the jolliest party this holiday season. Follow this stress-free guide that will help you host a holiday you and your guest will enjoy.
Do you want a formal sit down dinner or a fun cocktail party? Maybe even a fun ugly Christmas sweater potluck? Potlucks are a simple and enjoyable party for everyone involved.
Now that you have chosen what type of party you will host, it is time to think about how many guest you will be inviting and start making the guest list. You can also decide whether you will be sending out invitations or create an event on Facebook.
If you will be hosting a fun cocktail party pick out a few appetizers that you will provide, or use some of these yummy recipes. If you’re hosting a potluck, choose what meats you will offer (turkey, chicken, ham, steak, etc.) and allow your guest to bring the sides & desserts. Catering is also a fair choice, you’ll be able to enjoy a delicious meal without any of the work.
Set up a bar where you guest can easily fix their own drinks. Arrange a selection of liquor, sodas, juices and pre-cut garnishes. This will save you from playing bartender the whole night and allow your guest to freely help themselves.
Decorating your home is key in order to get your guest in the holiday spirit. Reserve one of your walls and create a photo station for all your guest to snap picture throughout the night. Maybe even create unique hashtag everyone can use, like #HappyJollydays2018
The days prior to your party set a schedule for the night of the party. Make a list of when to cook dishes, put up decor, set up the bar, etc. This will allow everything to run smoothly the day of the event.
Go ahead a prep anything that you can get done ahead of time, such as appetizers that you can keep cool in the fridge, party decor, and the cocktails/drinks bar.
Don’t forget to enjoy your party and the company of your guests. Although it is important to be a good host and cater to your guest, it is equally as important to have fun in the process of everything.
(December 2018) With the Season of Giving upon us, we wanted to turn the spotlight on the Lancaster Children’s Home, a local nonprofit we’ve been proud to partner with over the past 12 months. This effort stems from our Focused Acts of Caring initiative, which allows our division to nurture causes that make the Charlotte-area a better place.
Since 1961, the Children’s Home has delivered a safe, stable, nurturing, homelike environment for abused, abandoned or neglected children within Lancaster County and South Carolina. Additionally, the organization’s mission is to educate and instill positive values and life skills in our children who have been abused, abandoned and neglected so that they become independent, productive and responsible citizens.
Over the past year, our division has been honored to contribute over 75 volunteers (some pictured here) and most recently, a $10,000 check to the Children’s Home last month. We hope you’ll join us in supporting their important work. To learn more, visit www.lancasterchildrenshome.com.

What’s not to do around Majestic Gardens? Magnificently situated less than three miles from historic downtown Frisco, the Lennar community is enveloped with more things to do than anyone could hope for—many within a mere 10-mile radius.
Even the keenest of couch potatoes could be lured beyond Majestic Gardens, which already offers a park, picnic area, a playground, walking trails and ample green space for a day’s leisure.
At your fingertips, Frisco’s Sports City USA claims seven professional sports teams, including indoor football, lacrosse, soccer, basketball and hockey. That even doesn’t include the iconic Dallas Cowboys, whose World Headquarters features the 12,000-seat Ford Center at The Star, where they practice and high school teams get to play.
There’s more. How about floating on the Choctaw Lazy River while watching minor-league baseball at Dr Pepper Ballpark—arguably the most distinctive view for a professional sporting event? You can play soccer at the fields next to Toyota Stadium, a mere 1.4 miles from Majestic Gardens.
For those who aren’t sports-inclined, the community is within minutes of even more recreational, cultural, entertainment and leisure activities.
Stonebriar Country Club, Plantation Golf Club, The Trails of Frisco Golf Club and Frisco Lakes Golf Course offer world-class links. Almost too many parks to count, with greenways, walking trails, disc golf and a fishing pier, surround Majestic Gardens. And adjacent Little Elm, “The Town with the Lake Attitude,” lies on the banks of a water lover’s dream: the 29,000-acre Lake Lewisville, one of the largest in north Texas.
Back in Frisco, geek out at the National Videogame Museum. Step back in time at the Frisco Heritage Center. Get on track at the Museum of the American Railroad.
Add to all that, shopping havens such as Frisco Market Center and Parkway Towne Crossing are within four miles of Majestic Gardens. And Frisco is alive with community activities. Those include one of the Dallas area’s biggest July Fourth fireworks displays, stargazing through telescopes at Frisco Starfest every second Saturday and the free Music on the Square series in June.
As they say here, Fris-GO!

You’ve booked your flights and have arranged the necessary accommodations, but is your home prepared for holiday travel? Prepping your home is a step you do not want to skip before leaving for the holidays. Not only will it save you from possibly coming home to frozen pipes, but may even save money. The Seattle Times has rounded up nine ways to prepare your home for holiday travel.
Q: I’m traveling out of state to visit family for a week this month. What do I need to do to keep my home safe?
A: Whether you’re visiting far-flung family or heading somewhere warm, keep your trip drama-free by following these tips to prepare your home for vacancy.
1. Don’t let outdoor spigots freeze. In Seattle it rarely gets bitterly cold, but you should still take some minimal precautions to keep your pipes from freezing. Styrofoam covers for your outdoor faucets are cheap and effective. Better yet, hire a plumber to install frost-free hose bibs or equip each of your spigots with indoor shut-offs. Be sure to close the valves and bleed out the water before freezing temperatures arrive.
2. Indoor plumbing may also need protection. Some older homes have pipes in exterior walls, making them prone to freezing and bursting if the outdoor temperature drops. If you have a shower on an exterior wall, leave the bathroom door open so air can circulate with the rest of the house, or turn up the heat in that room.
3. Secure the lawn furniture. Frozen pipes can cause major property damage, but in Seattle it’s the winter wind that strikes most often. Before jumping into your Uber for the airport, take a few minutes to scan your yard for loose lawn furniture, trash can lids and other items that could take flight. (Patio umbrella: we’re looking at you!)
4. Turn down the thermostat. This tip takes only about two seconds and could save you enough money for a nice meal out on your vacation. Turn down your thermostat to 55 or 60 degrees.
5. Don’t worry about your plants. If you’re only going to be gone for a week (or even two), don’t bother lining someone up to water. If you’ve turned down your thermostat, your plants will be less thirsty, and most common house plants are tolerant of dry soil. Just give them a good dousing before you leave.
6. Use automation to give your home a lived-in look. Today’s smart home systems let you program your lights and TVs to mimic your at-home habits. You can use these systems to see what’s going on in your home, trigger intrusion alarms, and even unlock your front door for a petsitter. But don’t worry if your home lacks the latest tech. A couple of simple timers can give a realistic illusion of occupancy.
7. Be savvy about social media. Go ahead and post some vacation photos after you return but resist the temptation to hit “Publish” during your trip. You don’t want to advertise to the Internet that your house is going to be empty.
8. Tidy up. You may be in a rush to catch your flight, but be sure to schedule a few minutes to take out the trash and run the dishwasher. You’ll thank yourself when you return.
9. Consider renting your house. Posting your home on Airbnb while you’re away certainly adds pre-trip stress. However, the holidays are a prime time for vacation rentals, and you can likely pay for your flights with the proceeds.
Congrats! You’ve gotten your home all buttoned up. For extra peace of mind, ask a trusted neighbor to check on your house, collect the mail and keep an eye on things while you’re away. You can now relax on your vacation, confident that your house is safe and secure.
