One of the key components of holiday safety is making sure that you don’t overload your electrical outlets. Even though extension cords may seem like a quick and easy solution to this, try not to overdo it. Too many extension cords and power strips into each other can overload them, which can lead to fire hazards. Instead, use surge protectors to handle the extra load.
Make sure to also check the decorations for any frayed wires, cracked sockets or loose connections. Regular maintenance and inspection of your decorations ensure that they are safe to use and help maintain the festive atmosphere without any worries.
Finally, ensure that electrical cords are kept out of reach of children and pets. Little hands and curious paws can easily become entangled, leading to accidents. Moreover, avoid placing cords under carpets or rugs, as this can cause overheating lead to hazards.
