Mother's Day with Lennar at home

Celebrate Mother’s Day at Home

Moms play such an important role in our lives. They are our mentors, teachers, friends, chefs and so much more. Although this Mother’s Day might look and feel a little different, there are still plenty of ways you can celebrate your everyday hero right from the comfort of your home. We’ve put together some fun activities you can do with (and for) your mom to make this special day one for the books. And remember, it doesn’t have to be Mother’s Day to show your appreciation!

Breakfast in bed

Moms should start feeling the love as soon as they wake up. Let her sleep in then surprise her with a scrumptious breakfast in bed that will have her feeling like she’s staying at a five-star hotel. Plus, you can get the kids involved! Have them spell out mom with bacon strips, sausages and an egg – they’ll feel part of the process and will love letting mom know how much they adore her.

At-home spa day

After a decadent breakfast, treat mom to an at-home spa day! Set the scene with relaxing music and a basket filled with scented bath bombs, scrubs, face masks, lotions and candles. We guarantee your mom will love feeling pampered and her worries will float away.

Learn her favorite recipes

We all have that one meal from the moms in our lives that we absolutely love. Show mom how much you appreciate her by learning this recipe. Pull out the aprons, pots and pans and spend some quality time with mom! While you’re cooking, play her favorite music, share some stories like where the recipe came from and create special moments she’ll remember forever. And if you perfect the recipe, she might end up having you make it for her in the future!

Virtual brunch

Who says loved ones not in your home can’t join in the fun? Coordinate a virtual brunch with mom’s closest friends and family. Whip up some delectable dishes, dress the part (meaning get out of those pajamas!) and enjoy a leisurely brunch chatting and going through some of your favorite memories with mom.

Have some fun under the sun

If mom has been homeschooling the kids and working from home, she might need a breath of fresh air. Take Mother’s Day outdoors and enjoy the meals you’ve prepared for her outside or have a cookout in her honor. With spring in full bloom, you can also take this day as an opportunity to help mom freshen up her beautiful garden – after all she did help you grow.
