Plan ahead for the holidays this year

Whether you’re inviting your entire extended family or just a few close relatives this holiday season, planning ahead is your best friend. So, make that list and check it twice because the more planning you do now, the less stress you will feel when the holidays arrive.

Start by making a list of everything that needs to be done. Then, rearrange your list into a timeline so that each day has its own small list of tasks. By doing this, you take a daunting list and shrink it down so that each day you can tackle just a couple of items. Before you know it, you’re done and it’s time to kick up your feet and enjoy a hot mug of warm cider.

It’s in the details

When entertaining family and friends, little details can go a long way. Light some candles to permeate holiday scents through your Lennar home, like balsam or fresh baked cookies, to help greet your guests with the warm smells of the season.  Be sure to have plenty of fresh linens available throughout the guest rooms and bathrooms. Individual items are a great way to make sure your guests have everything they need, as well as add an element of fun to their stay. From travel size shampoo and conditioner bottles in the guest bathroom, to individually wrapped snacks in the pantry. Seeing these personalized details are sure to make your guests feel welcome in your home.

Eat, drink and be merry

Dessert is always a focal point when thinking about the holiday season. Fresh baked apple crisp and pumpkin pie are classic staples, but if you’re looking for unique twists that are sure to impress your guests, try mini pies or tarts. Giving your guests their own miniature pumpkin pie or apple tart will be a memorable detail and will also make entertaining a breeze. No more cutting that first piece of pie only to watch your masterpiece crumble on the plate.

Another fun way to personalize your guests’ holiday experience in your home is to have a signature cocktail. Keep it simple with only a few ingredients but give it some flare and creativity. Try something like Spiked Apple Cider with a few fresh cranberries and a cinnamon stick for garnish.

Have a seat

Be sure not to overlook seating. Setting up little gathering spots throughout your Lennar home is a wonderful way to guide your guests throughout your beautifully decorated rooms while providing them with cozy nooks to have conversations. Be mindful of the number of guests you are entertaining this season and strive to have at least one area where everyone can join and sit comfortably.

Remember, the holidays are a time for gratitude, sharing memories and making new ones.  There’s no better way than with your Lennar home filled with our signature Everything’s Included and Connected Home features. There really is no place like your Lennar home for the holidays.
