Golfers Paradise in Central Florida

Central Florida is the perfect place to be outdoors, with 236 days of sunshine (sunny or partly sunny), 10-14 hours of daylight each day and average temperatures in the mid-’70s.  If you call Central Florida home or are thinking about it, be prepared for limitless options on how to spend your free time: beaches, world-class theme parks, professional sporting events and of course…golf!  Florida, in general, boasts more golf courses than any other state, about 1,250 and Central Florida is right in the middle of it, literally.  When selecting where to golf, keep in mind there are four key types of golf courses.

  • Private Golf Courses in Orlando include gems like Isleworth Golf and Country Club and Bella Collina Golf and Country Club, both located in luxurious gated communities.  Memberships to private courses are required and sometimes (not always) limited to those living in that community.  Private courses strive to create a Country Club atmosphere offering enhanced amenities including dining privileges, member events, private lessons and other exclusive benefits.
  • Semi-Private Golf Courses typically prioritize membership but also allow non-members to book tee times and play. To varying degrees, they combine elements of both private and public golf courses. This is the category in which most Orlando-area golf courses would fall.

A great example of this is Lennar’s ChampionsGate Country Club, laid out through Lennar’s master-planned ChampionsGate community, this 18-hole golf course is enhanced by the stunning elements of the homes and Lennar’s Oasis Club at ChampionsGate.

  • Resort Golf Courses – With an estimated 72 million visitors coming to Orlando and surrounding areas each year, golf is a big part of why many people visit.  Some of Central Florida’s most beautiful golf courses are owned and maintained by luxury resorts. Such as Disney-owned Tranquillo Golf at Four Seasons Resort Orlando and Waldorf Astoria Golf Club.

Another great example is Omni Orlando Resort at ChampionsGate featuring 36-holes of world-class golf designed to offer golfers a blend of traditional and modern elements, creating a truly unique golf course in Orlando.
