In 1988, physicist Larry Shaw organized a celebration to honor the constant Pi (π) in which he and his fellow staff members of the San Francisco Exploratorium, along with a sizable public turnout, marched in a large circular procession, and then consumed various-flavored fruit pies. Fast forward 29 years: Pi Day, which falls on March 14th – the digits of the date (3/14) match the first three numbers of Pi (3.14), is a day for math lovers to tease their minds with fun equations and numerical solutions; or, everyone can eat pie. Here are ten pie recipes to help you celebrate Pi Day in a mathematically-tasty fashion. How? Well, for starters, you must correctly measure the ingredients, or your efforts could equal an unquantifiable mess.
