House to home

8 Things to Deep Clean this Spring

Spring is right around the corner, which means it’s time for you to give your home its annual deep clean. Spring cleaning takes a whole lot of effort and time, but there’s nothing more satisfying than having a freshly cleaned home.

1.Windows

Instead of just cleaning the interior side of your windows, take some time out of a cloudy day to really clean all of the windows in your home. Grab a microfiber cloth & your favorite glass cleaner. Avoid cleaning your windows when direct sunlight is hitting them, this will prevent streaks.

2.Countertops

The key to preventing granite stains is to clean spills as soon as they happen. It’s important to pamper your countertops a few times a year by whipping out a good granite polish to restore shine and help protect the surface from potential stains.

3.Fridge

Take EVERYTHING OUT. Take out all of your groceries out of the fridge and check for expired condiments to throw out. Give the shelves and bins and wash with warm, soapy water. Before placing everything back in the fridge wipe down the remainder of the surfaces.

4.Closets

The Spring is a great time to declutter and organize your closets. Take this time to get rid of anything you have not used in the past year. Donate or trash all of your unwanted items. Knowing what you own will also help you avoid repurchasing the items that you already have at home.

5.Junk Drawer

We all have a junk drawer for numerous miscellaneous items. It’s good to clean and “organize” it every once in a while. Simply take everything out of the drawer and if any items have a “home” within your home store them away appropriately. Then add small bowls in the drawers to help keep your junk organized.

6.Stainless Steel

Keep your stainless steel appliances spotless and fingerprint free this spring. Wipe them down with the stainless steel spray of your choice or make your own with things you might already have at home. Click HERE, for ideas.

7.Ceilings

Your ceilings are spots that don’t get cleaned regularly, so take some time to grab an extended duster and go through the ceilings and moldings.

8.Floors

Flooring should be maintained regularly throughout the year. Wood and tile flooring should be swept and carpet should be vacuumed often. Bring in professionals 1-3 times of year to get your floors deep cleaned.
