The Christmas season is greeted with fun holiday traditions, from decorating the tree to building snowmen to drinking eggnog. One delicious custom that warms the heart of a family kitchen is the construction and decoration of a gingerbread house. This delicious culinary confection can be credited with an almost indescribable feeling of satisfaction, as one trims the shingles and windows with icing, lines gumdrops along the peppermint walkway, and presses colorful candy beads around the doors and foundation; perhaps the pleasing notion we entertain is that, upon finishing construction, we can eat the tasty edifice.
