It’s officially a new year, which means time for new interior design trends and concepts. One of our favorite annual trends that we love keeping up with is Pantone’s Color of the Year. Originally created in 1999 by the Pantone Color Institute, a color is chosen each year that reflects global culture and sparks conversation about color and its impact on the world. The Color of the Year is influential across many different industries, from entertainment and travel to fashion and interior design.
Pantone’s Color of the Year for 2025 is Mocha Mousse, 17-1230. This soft shade of brown evokes a sense of rich comfort and brings subtle warmth into any space. Mocha Mousse pairs beautifully with a variety of colors and neutrals, complementing design styles from contemporary to traditional.
“PANTONE 17-1230 Mocha Mousse expresses a level of thoughtful indulgence,” said Leatrice Eiseman, Executive Director of Pantone Color Institute. “Sophisticated and lush, yet at the same time an unpretentious classic, PANTONE 17-1230 Mocha Mousse extends our perceptions of the browns from being humble and grounded to embrace aspirational and luxe.”
If you’re looking to revamp your home for the new year, try utilizing Mocha Mousse in your space. Check out how our design team incorporated the Color of the Year in some of our Lennar model homes across the nation.
