Just because Earth Day only happens once a year doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t celebrate Earth the other 364 days. Here are five ways that you can celebrate and thank planet earth every single day.

Recycle 

Recycle everything you can, everywhere you go. Recycling helps save energy, water, oil, and many other resources. Recycling is easy, so it’s important to start this positive habit and encourage others to do the same.

Turn Off the Lights

Turn off the lights and any unused appliances. Start by getting in the habit of turning off the lights when leaving a room in your home and turning off any appliance as soon as you’re done with it. For example, many people struggle with needing to have the T.V. on at all times which may waste electricity. Make a conscious effort to turn everything off when it’s not being used. Not only is this good for the environment but it will save you some cash.

Carry Reusable Grocery Bags 

Reduce the amount of plastics bags that you consume by carrying reusable grocery bags in your car or in your bag. Reusable grocery bags are not a hassle to carry and this small change can make a big difference for the environment.

Use a Reusable Water Bottle

Billions of pounds of plastic end up in the ocean every year, forming city-sized islands of waste, and disposable plastic water bottles are a huge contributor to this issue. Make an Effort to Carpool

Ask your coworkers about their commute to work, you might be surprised and find that many of them live fairly close to you. Introduce the idea of starting to carpool a day or two out of the week. Carpooling helps cut down the amount of pollution released into the air and also benefits you. Carpooling saves you money on gas and car maintenance.
