Public is Invited to Five Lennar Properties for Old-Fashioned Summer Fun to benefit Tunnel to Towers foundation
Lennar is stockpiling charcoal grills, coolers and stereo speakers at five different locations in preparation for its upcoming summer barbecue, slated for Saturday, July 18th and Sunday, July 19th at its Greenbriar active adult communities across the state.
Good old-fashioned summer fun is on the agenda at each community, and classic cookout fare is on the menu. A wide variety of music and entertainment will keep guests engaged as they kick back and enjoy a laid-back July afternoon. The event is free to the public, but it will also raise funds for the Tunnel to Towers Foundation, a charitable organization founded in honor of Stephen Siller, a heroic FDNY firefighter who on 9/11 strapped 60 lbs. of gear to his back and rushed on foot from Brooklyn through the Battery Tunnel to the World Trade Center towers where he gave up his life while saving others. Lennar will present a check to the organization and guests who wish to contribute will have the opportunity to purchase Tunnel to Towers merchandise and participate in a fundraising raffle.
On Saturday, July 18th, the event will be held at Greenbriar Oceanaire in Waretown, Greenbriar Fox Ridge in Rockaway Township and Greenbriar at Villagio in South Brunswick from noon to 4 p.m. On Sunday, July 19th, the event will be held at Greenbriar Falls in Tinton Falls and Greenbriar Stonebridge in Monroe Township from noon to 4 p.m.
“This upcoming event encompasses so many of the aspects that make life at our Greenbriar communities special,” said Don Bompensa, president of Lennar’s New Jersey Division. “Our residents relish the neighborly, resort-inspired atmosphere of each of our communities, and that is reflected in the events that we host. The fact that we’re able to incorporate a fundraising effort for an organization such as Tunnel to Towers that is doing commendable work in communities throughout the region gives everyone in attendance yet another reason to celebrate.”
The Tunnel to Towers Foundation honors and supports injured first responders and service members. It also supports a number of other individuals and families in need, including orphans and victims of Hurricane Sandy.
In addition to raising money for Tunnel to Towers, Lennar’s state-wide event will also showcase the beautifully-landscaped grounds, resort-like amenities and upscale active adult lifestyle the acclaimed Greenbriar communities are known for.
