Jazzy Beats and Scrumptious Treats at The San Francisco Shipyard

San Francisco, Calif. – May 2018 – The SF Shipyard went back to the nights of smokey jazz in dark supper clubs in the third installment of the Homeowner Happy Hours series. A successful evening, this time around the event featured smooth rhythms and delicious soul food by Old Skool Café, a youth-run jazz club and restaurant in Bayview.

“Our third Homeowner Happy Hour Event went better than expected, thanks to Old Skool Café who had residents bopping their heads and snapping their fingers to live beats all evening long,” said Garrett Chan, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for The San Francisco Shipyard. “As always, residents enjoy getting to mix and mingle with each other at these events, but also learn more about local based artisans and restaurants in the Hunters Point-Bayview community.”

More than 50 residents and guests gathered at the stunning Welcome Home Center for the event. A three-piece jazz band, comprised of high school students affiliated with the San Francisco Jazz, provided live upbeat music throughout the evening, creating an engaging atmosphere. Additionally, two high-school aged employees from Old Skool Café prepared and served all of the delicious passed appetizers residents loved.

Old Skool Café, located down the street in Bayview, is a faith-based violence prevention program that provides marketable employment skills in the restaurant industry to at-risk youth between the ages of 16-22. A great non-profit, the residents enjoyed learning about the organization and all its offerings, many now eager to visit and try their weekly happy hour. Although the restaurant recently went through several months of renovation, it is now open from Tuesday through Sunday.

The San Francisco Shipyard offers new homes and a unique opportunity to live in one of the nation’s hottest and highest valued markets. Prospective homeshoppers are encouraged to visit the Welcome Home Center open every day from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at 11 Innes Court in San Francisco.
