Lennar Austin is teaming up with SunStreet Energy Group™ to launch Austin’s Premier Solar Community, Colorado Crossing! Located just east of downtown Austin, every home in the newest phase of the existing community will feature solar panels. Don’t worry though! Lennar has developed a program with no up-front costs.

Solar technology converts the most clean and abundant natural energy source – the sun- into electricity on your rooftop. This cutting edge technology will be featured on every home in the newest section of Colorado Crossing, making this community the first of its kind in the Austin area. Homeowners benefit when they receive a credit from Austin Energy for the energy generated on their home’s panels. This credit is designed to offset some of the homeowner’s energy expenses assuring the homeowner they are not paying more than retail value.

Homeowners are presented two options at the date of purchase: (1) purchase the solar system outright OR (2) enter into our Solar Benefits Program. Purchasing the system will cost on average $15,000 – $25,000* at closing and includes a 20 year CertainTeed warranty. Purchasing the system has many benefits, however, homeowners may not have enough money to cover a down payment for a home, closing costs, moving costs, and the purchase of solar panels.

The Solar Benefits Program requires no money down with just one flat monthly payment to SunStreet Energy Group. While purchasing the system is an option, the Solar Benefits Program is the new and exciting feature of this technological addition. This program makes the benefits of solar power available without any up-front payment or credit qualifications. The nature of this program allows a community like Colorado Crossing to have the added benefit of solar panels without an expensive price tag.
