Lennar donates $1.25 million to Lancaster County

Benefitting public safety and area schools

Lennar, one of the nation’s premier homebuilders, has donated $1,252,500 to enhance Lancaster County’s public safety and school district. The donation comes as part of the acquisition and development of Tree Tops, Lennar’s active adult community in Indian Land and is set to open pre-sales in early 2016.

“Lennar’s generous donation to education and public safety is a major building block and will serve generations to come,” said county administrator Steve Willis. “It’s an exciting time to live in our area with a growing workforce, award-winning schools and outstanding recreational offerings.”

Specifically, the donation is divided into $835,000 for public safety (law enforcement, fire, emergency services) and $417,500 dedicated to the Lancaster County School District. In addition, Lennar will donate a 2.2 acre parcel located on the north side of Van Wyck Road to be used for a public safety facility, along with $350,000 for road improvements running from Highway 521 to the Tree Tops entrance.

“By investing in Lancaster County, we look to enhance the quality of life not only for our homeowners but the entire community,” said Jon Hardy the Lennar Charlotte division president.
