Lennar opens 1,142-home Waterside at Catawba

Local schools, non-profit benefit during event to kickoff expansive Fort Mill community

Lennar, a leading national homebuilder, opened what will become its largest Charlotte-area community today, bringing quality and value to York County on an unprecedented scale.

Waterside at The Catawba, located on 636 Mackenzie Falls Drive in Fort Mill, will feature approximately 1,142 homes, with single-family residences ranging from 1,614- to 2,689-square-feet. Prices are set in the low-$200s and range to the $380s.

The variety of ranch and three-story floor plans at Waterside at Catawba feature up to seven bathrooms and six bathrooms, with move-in ready homes already available.

“The extensive choices at Waterside at The Catawba are especially impressive,” said Lennar Charlotte Division President Jon Hardy. “Whether it’s first-time buyer, a family looking to move up or active empty-nesters, this community offers a tremendous location in York County along with the built-in quality and value that Lennar always provides.”

That value includes Lennar’s signature Everything’s Includedprogram, which offers desirable luxury features in each home’s base price. Where other builders charge tens of thousands of extra dollars for “upgrades” such as stainless steel appliance packages, first-floor hardwoods and granite countertops, Lennar includes them at no additional cost.

Homes are already under construction, and future amenities at Waterside will include: a multimillion-dollar clubhouse with fitness center, meeting space and kitchen; pool; tennis facilities; playground; walking trails; sand volleyball courts; and access to the Catawba River.

Waterside at Catawba residents will also benefit from low tax rates in York County and a nationally acclaimed school system that is soon to expand. A new elementary and high school, approved and funded, will be built along Whites Road near the Waterside entrance. Nearby infrastructure is also set for an upgrade: Springs Parkway, a four lane road connecting Fort Mill to I-77 designed to ease road congestion is under construction less than a quarter-mile from the community’s entrance.

Also on Saturday, Lennar donated $2,250 to local schools and a non-profit. Representatives from Doby’s Bridge Elementary School, Banks Trail Middle School and the Humane Society of York County competed in a dunking booth contest for cash prizes.

“Waterside on the Catawba is a major development and both Lennar and the residents here are going to play a large part in the growing Ford Mill community,: Hardy said. “We wanted get started by making a splash.”
