Golf La Quinta, “The Gem of the Desert,” also singled out by Robb Report as “The Best Place to Live for Golf” is home to 25 acclaimed golf courses set across the Santa Rosa Mountains. November brings newly seeded grass and pristine playing conditions to each of these courses conveniently located within a 5-10 mile radius of Griffin Ranch or Griffin Ranch residents can work on their short game, just a short distance from home at the Griffin Club.
Food Many valley restaurants take a hiatus during the heat of summer, but with season just around the corner, these crowd favorites happily begin to open their doors to the busiest time of year. Choose from casual and fine dining options in La Quinta or other cities in the Coachella Valley. A few of our local favorites range from Lavender Bistro in Old Town La Quinta to Ernie’s Bar & Grill located at PGA WEST, the perfect spot for a bite to eat after a long day on the links.
Drink One of our three local breweries in the valley is named after the City of La Quinta. La Quinta Brewing Company, located in Palm Desert, has since opened a tasting room in Old Town La Quinta. The desert’s newest craft brewery allows you to try specialty beers found only at their brewery and Old Town locations, while their more popular beers are now served at over 170 local restaurants and bars. Speaking of beer, the 5th Annual Rhythm, Wine & Brews Experience will be held in March 2016 at the Indio Polo Fields, located in our neighboring city.
Events The holiday season is all about spending time with family. Local hotels and restaurants host seasonal events such as the Christmas tree lighting ceremony at La Quinta Resort a quick 6-mile drive from your home at Griffin Ranch. As the year comes to an end, the cool weather stays and January is just around the corner jam-packed with outdoor activities such as the 2016 CareerBuilder Challenge located at La Quinta Country Club and PGA WEST directly down the street from Griffin Ranch. The coming months bring local events that celebrate the valley’s rich background, The International Tamale Festival and Riverside County Fair and National Date Festival are located in Indio also home to popular music festivals, Coachella and Stagecoach.
Weather Most importantly, we have to remember how lucky we are that we get to enjoy these beautiful desert days when the sunshine is just right and the nights are only a tad chilly. Many cities across the country and world are closing their doors to harsh winter storms while we’re afforded the opportunity to lay out by the pool one day and take a day trip to the snowy mountains the next, all to return to our poolside within a few hours.
Griffin Ranch is excited for the return of our seasonal homeowners and looking forward to kicking off the best season of the year for our valley! For more information about our homes, please visit us at http://www.lennar.com/new-homes/california/palm-springs-coachella .
