Trendy Holiday-Themed Things to Do in Tampa Bay

Don’t let Tampa Bay’s sun-soaked wintertime put your holiday plans on ice. You can stuff your stockings with so many things to do, from dazzling light displays to diving elves. And with water, water everywhere, boat parades and even a pirate river taxi add more dazzle to an Instagram-worthy Christmas.

Virtually around the corner from the new homes for sale in Lennar’s 70-plus communities throughout Tampa Bay, “yule” find such events as:

Symphony of Lights: At The Shops of Wiregrass in Wesley Chapel, a light show dances to the sounds of the Trans-Siberian Orchestra, and there’s even snow at the event held 6 to 9 nightly through Dec. 31.

Tampa Riverwalk Holiday Boat Parade: Boasts decked with holiday lights cruise through downtown Tampa. Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park, an Instagram favorite year-round, is the best place to watch the parade from 6:30 to 9 p.m. on Dec. 22.

The Elf at Armature Works: Ola the Elf plays hide-and-seek at Tampa’s Armature Works through Dec. 24. Find him, then post an “elfie” on Instagram.

Saturdays with Santa at The Florida Aquarium: The Big Guy visits every Saturday through the end of the year, while elves—yes, elves—take a dive.  Saturdays with Santa run 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Pirate Water Taxi: Cruise a Pirate Water Taxi through Tampa’s seasonally enchanted downtown, topped off with carolers, hot chocolate and cookies. The holiday taxis run through the end of the year.

Christmas in the Wild: This is how trendy ZooTampa is. One website says the zoo, also known for its wildlife, offers holiday treats in an “array of Instagram-worthy items,” including apple-cider doughnuts and a Sugarplum Fairy Float.

Savoring the Holidays: Numerous area restaurants are open Christmas Day, with many adding holiday specials. For a romantic holi-date, the Rusty Pelican offers a champagne brunch, which includes roasted turkey, prime rib and a specialty Bloody Mary Station. Elévage at the Epicurean serves a regal Christmas meal with a four-course extravaganza.

These are among so many things to do around Tampa, where Lennar’s new homes offer homebuyers sparkling opportunities to enjoy a Dickens of a holiday.
