Celebrate DFW’s Historic Melting Pot of Asian and Pacific Island Cultures

Chinese, Vietnamese, Korean, Filipino, Japanese, Malaysian—these and other Asian and Pacific Island cultures help create a melting pot in the DFW Metroplex that began blending 150-plus years ago and now boasts 24 of the Fortune 500 corporate global headquarters.

Some of the first Chinese immigrants to arrive in town worked to build the railway in 1870. Today, we mark Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month with a variety of cultural offerings and activities throughout DFW. One special event featured K-pop artists, hula dancers and more at the Irving Mall, just 35 miles from Caraway-Vista, with new homes for sale in Haslet, TX.

Elsewhere, special exhibitions showcase the rich histories of the other side of the world—and all just around the corner from any of Lennar’s 73 communities across the Metroplex. For instance, the Ann & Gabriel Barbier-Mueller Museum: The Samurai Collection lies just 25 miles from Lennar’s WatermillSpringwood, and Jewel communities, with new homes for sale in Heartland, TX. and with Heartland Classic coming soon. At the museum the Iron Men: The Artistry of Iron in Samurai Armor exhibit takes you back to the warrior class renowned for their swordsmanship, dating from 12thcentury Japan.

In fact, Dallas-Fort Worth celebrates Asian arts year-round. The Crow Museum of Asian Art, for instance, is showing a Dallas artist’s works created during the pandemic. Another exhibit, “Vishnu: Across Space and Time,” celebrates one of Hinduism’s most powerful gods. The Crow is located in the Dallas Arts District, just 38 miles from Lennar’s Arcadia Farms  Classic and Brookstone collections of new homes for sale in Princeton, TX

You can’t go a day without seeing Dallasites and Fort Worthers enjoying the food of the Far East. One of them, the Khao Noodle Shop, ranked No. 2 in “Bon Appétit” magazine’s “Hot 10 Best New Restaurants 2019.” To sample a full range of Asian and Pacific Island cuisines in one spot, visit Grand Prairie, home to Asia Times Square, one Texas’s largest Asian markets.
