Celebrate Random Acts of Kindness Week, Close to Home in Big-Hearted Texas

The beloved phrase is said to have originated in the early 1980s, when Anne Herbert, a California writer, scrawled on a restaurant placemat: “Practice random acts of kindness and senseless acts of beauty.” Now it’s the heart of a national holiday, in fact, an entire week.

Random Acts of Kindness Day falls on Feb. 17, and #RandomActofKindnessWeek runs through Feb. 20, coinciding, incidentally, with Jell-O Week and Flirting Week.

The nonprofit Random Acts of Kindness Foundation initiated the holiday to “make kindness an inspirational aspect of people’s lives,” DaysoftheYear.com says.  So today, Lennar offers some ways to spread the love and pay it forward, especially in these most trying times.

Send an unexpected text. Write a LinkedIn recommendation. Offer mentorship. Snail-mail a handwritten note. Scrawl inspirational words on a Post-it Note to leave for a neighbor.

Turns out DFW is filled with RAKtivists, as the foundation calls spontaneous do-gooders.

In Fort Worth, a woman at a Starbucks paid for the person behind her, setting off a chain of java-generosity that lasted at least an hour, CBS 11 reported. At a Fort Worth McDonald’s, a mystery man handed out $100 bills to random passersby, according to CBS DFW

Wouldn’t you know, Lennar offers new homes for sale in Fort Worth, TX, the all-American city that’s home to those benevolent Texans. The Llano Springs community features nine generous new-home designs in Lennar’s amenities-rich Primrose Crossing and Watermill.

Another example of the Metroplex’s incidental generosity: A Dallas woman routinely hands out 50 uplifting notes and gift cards to folks she sees during her frequent trips in and out of Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport. Again, a Lennar community, Phillips Creek Ranch, with new homes for sale in Frisco, TX, lies just 21 miles from such bustling largesse.

Just 17 miles from there, Lennar’s Aspen Meadows community offers an ideal setting for homeowners to commit random acts of kindness. The city, steeped in 18th-century history, features homegrown restaurants and farmers markets that thrive on family-friendly support. Experience the love with one of Lennar’s new homes for sale in Aubrey, TX.

As with all of Lennar’s new homes, Everything’s Included®. That’s Lennar’s generous suite of upgrades that other homebuilders add on as costly extra “features.”
