Metroplex Lights Up Holiday with a Wonderland of Family Festivities

The season’s colors, sounds, lights and magic wrap Dallas-Fort Worth like the world’s largest gift.

Within just a few minutes of any of Lennar’s 93 communities throughout the Metroplex, events to make your season merry and bright include a grand parade, a tuba concert, the Radio City Rockettes and so much more.

The granddaddy of north Texas’ festivities is the Dallas Holiday Parade. Join 450,000 of your closest friends for the 31st edition of the parade that begins at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 1.

Dallas’ version of the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, complete with marching bands, floats and family-fun activities, begins at Commerce and Houston streets. The parade is free, but you can purchase guaranteed-seat tickets here.

New homes in Dallas and in Lennar communities in Arlington, Fort Worth, Frisco and beyond are within easy reach of a veritable winter wonderland of things to do.

TubaChristmas adds a deep brass burnish to ye olde Christmas carols. The Dec. 24 concert begins at noon at Thanks-Giving Square in downtown Dallas. The family event is free.

In Arlington, with new homes in Southwind Meadows and coming soon to Elements at Viridian, homebuyers are within just 12 miles of enchantment. Make that “Enchant,” where Globe Life Park morphs from the Texas Rangers’ home park into the North Pole. With the world’s largest Christmas light maze and north Texas’ biggest Christmas tree, the spectacular setting is open Nov. 23 through Dec. 30.

Great Wolf Lodge’s Snowland runs Nov. 24 to Jan. 4 in Grapevine, within 10 miles of new homes in eight Lennar communities in Coppell, Colleyville, Euless and Irving. See a life-size gingerbread house an indoor snowfall melt into a water park.

No holiday’s complete without a Nutcracker. Among many, the Majestic Theatre features the iconic Radio City Rockettes, who perform Rockefeller Christmas with tap-dancing favorites, as well as the Nutcracker’s second act.

At The Galleria, a Hanukkah menorah lighting is held at sunset from Dec. 2 to 10. Afterward, head downstairs for ice-skating.

Finally, burn off that Thanksgiving carbo-load and get fit for all the holiday fun at The “Official” Dallas YMCA Turkey Trot with a 5k or 8-mile run on Nov. 22.

We can stuff your stocking with even more, but you can find additional information about new homes in Dallas-Fort Worth on our website. Or peruse D Magazine and THRILLIST to check out more than 100 holiday festivities.
