Scare Up Lots of Fall Fun with a Cornucopia of Texas-Sized Festivals and Events

Fall Festivals

DFW might very well be an acronym for “Do Fall Well,” and the Metroplex does just that with festivals cropping up like pumpkin patches and spiced latte. Lennar’s 81 communities, with new homes for sale in Dallas, TX, are all virtually around the corner from family fun.

Here’s a sample of a few Texas-sized season favorites:

State Fair of Texas: Rustle up the cowpokes, the State Fair of Texas is one of the most iconic, if not biggest, events in the state, if not the world. The 130-plus-year-old festival features everything from livestock to live music, funnel cakes to football. Lennar homebuyers enjoy easy access to the fairgrounds, which lies less than two miles from I-30.

Autumn at the Arboretum: Leave(s) it to the Dallas Arboretum to turn fall into a festival. With more than 90,000 gourds on display, the 14th annual festival’s theme is “It’s The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown™.” Get lost in the Pig Pen hay-bale maze. Snap Instagram-worthy selfies with Peanuts topiaries.  Lennar’s Prairie Creek community, coming soon to the Big D, is less than seven miles away.

Fright Fest and Festival at the Switchyard: Three Lennar communities with new homes for sale in Lewisville, TX, are within 10 miles of Carrollton’s 10th annual Festival at the Switchyard. The free concerts, free parking, and free rides run from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Nov. 11.

Arlington’s Fright Fest at Six Flags Over Texas, with haunted attractions and scream-at-the-top-of-your-lungs rides, lies within minutes of new homes for sale in Arlington, TX, just 12 miles from Southwind Meadows and six miles from Elements of Viridian, coming soon. Scare up the kids for ghoulishly good times through Nov. 3.

Water Lantern Festival: For a more subdued autumnal event, catch the glittering serenity of the Arlington festival from 4 to 10 p.m. Oct. 19. Your ticket to the event at Globe Life Park includes a floating water lantern.

For additional fall activities throughout the Metroplex, check out Visit DFW. The listing includes such events as the small-town Ennis Autumn Daze Oct. 27 and the Oct. 12 Plano International Festival, where new homes for sale in Plano, TX, in Wells Park are just eight miles away.
