It’s So Good to be FINALLY HOME

On January 25, 2018, Lennar and Operation FINALLY HOME were beyond honored to present the keys of a brand new, mortgage-free Lennar home to U.S. Army Chief Warrant Officer 3 Matthew Uran and his wife, Jennifer. The Uran’s celebrated the day alongside approximately 100 well-wishers, including generous program contributors including the City of La Marque, Friendswood Development Company and the Greater Houston Builders Association.

Established in 2005, Operation FINALLY HOME provides custom-built, mortgage-free homes to America’s military heroes and the widows of the fallen. To date, the organization has completed or is planning to build more than 250 homes for heroes across 33 states.

The Uran’s new home is located in the Delaney Cove community, in La Marque, Texas, often referred to as “The Gateway to the Gulf.” Here, the Uran family can take advantage of all that the cities of La Marque, Houston and Galveston have to offer, including popular shopping and dining, the nearby Kemah Boardwalk and Johnson Space Center. As residents of Delaney Cove, they will have access to community parks, a volleyball court, picnic areas, walking paths and playgrounds. Inside their new home, they will enjoy a bright and open design thoughtfully created for comfortable, quality time with family and friends.

“During his 13 years in service, Matthew represented our country with bravery and honor,” said John Hammond, Division President of Lennar’s Houston Division. “It is our pleasure and our honor to thank him with this new home for his beautiful family.”

Matthew was honorably discharged from the Army in 2007 after incurring injuries during a team tactics practice. The incident left him with a fractured back and pelvis, and an ongoing Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), among other conditions. Matthew has been honored with the Army Commendation Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Korea Defense Service Medal, Overseas Service Ribbon and several other recognitions. We wish Matthew and Jennifer a wonderful future in their new home.

The Uran’s home dedication was a meaningful event for the community and was covered in the following publications:
