Lennar Houston Opens Houston’s First nuHome Community, Wayside Village, With New Homes From the Mid $100s

Community Grand Opening Set for Saturday, April 6

Lennar has acquired 15 acres in northeast Houston where it has opened the city’s first nuHome community of new, affordable single-family homes from the mid $100s.

Located on Wayside Drive just south of Little York, Lennar’s first nuHome Houston community – and first in Texas – offers new three- and four-bedroom plans from 1,174 – 2,229 square feet.

Families can get their first look at the affordably priced nuHome community of Wayside Village on Saturday, April 6 from 1 – 4 p.m.  A new, fully furnished model home also will open for public tour.

“nuHome puts the dream of homeownership within reach with a new home first-time buyers can afford from a builder they can trust,” says John Hammond, Houston division president of Lennar.

Lennar’s Wayside Village offers 64 homesites with several already pre-sold. About 35 prospects toured the community’s model and inventory homes at an early March pre-grand opening kick off.

“It’s proven what we’ve known for quite some time – there’s a pent up demand for new homes in Houston starting in the $100s,” adds Hammonds.

Six functional and inviting plans boast features such as open-concept kitchen and adjoining breakfast room, spacious family room, first-floor master suite with en suite master bathroom and large walk-in closet, spacious secondary bedrooms, second-floor loft space, generous utility room and two-car garage. Modern designs and finishes include laminate tops, tile floors and chrome finishes. Move-In ready homes also are available.

nuHome also presents buyers with down payment assistance options, available through Eagle Home Mortgage, including a 3.5% down payment assistance grant which can be applied toward a down payment or closing costs.

“It’s all about making it easier to purchase a new home for families of all sizes who otherwise were limited to rent or resell residences,” says Hammond.

Other nuHome communities are expected to open later this year, he adds.
