Spring Break for a Day – in Central Florida

Central Florida has no shortage of exciting day-long adventures, all-year round! Even more so during Spring Break season (generally the month of March) as visitors from all over the world are landing at Orlando International Airport to begin their Central Florida Spring Break adventure. Orlando has a unique geographical positioning, travel 60 minutes in one direction to reach the Atlantic Ocean or 90 minutes in the other direction to reach the Gulf of Mexico.  Or if you prefer to stay dry during your spring break, Central Florida is at the epicenter of world-class theme park entertainment and boats some unique historical and cultural charms as well. If you are lucky enough to call Central Florida home, here is a cheat sheet on some exciting ways to “Spring Break for a Day” in Central Florida.

  • Visit an old-Florida fish camp and hop aboard an airboat for a fast-paced tour through the unaltered wilderness wetlands. Boggy Creek Airport Adventures offers tours and don’t forget to stop by their  Native American village exhibit.
  • Try your hand at deep sea fishing at Clearwater Beach. There are many great options for charters, search for the one that matches the energy of your group. They range from party-ship to serious-fisherman and everywhere in between. If you are going with kids, ask for a suggestion on best timing.
  • Visit one of the world’s most famous beaches – Daytona Beach with 23 miles of white-sand and great options for food and fun. Belly up to the oyster bar, drink fruity drinks and play in the surf.
  • Universal Orlando Resort’s Mardi Gras is unforgettable springtime fun for everyone. Enjoy nightly parades with outrageous street performers, colorful costumes and beads flying. Catch some of the biggest names in music live in concert on select nights.
  • Visit the nation’s oldest city – St. Augustine where you will find an array of attractions from living history museums like the Castillo de San Marcos to Gilded-Age hotels, swashbuckling adventures and specialized tours in the air, on the sea, and in the heart of the historic district.
