We want to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving this year! We are excited to have new families that have just moved into their new Lennar Nashville Communities. With this year being a bit different than in the past, we want to provide you with a few ideas to make this year fun and memorable.
Get out and move.
Sign up for a virtual Turkey Trot! Many charities and organizations will be hosting a virtual 5k. You and your family can sign up, get out of the house, and move all while giving back to a great cause. Check out the Nashville Turkey Trot, Virtual Thankful Turkey Edition! You will have 4 days to complete your Half, 5k or 10k then submit your results and print your certificate! While you are signing up for family fun you can make a donation to ALS Association Tennessee Chapter to help the critical research on ALS. Get out, have fun, and help others!
To cook or order?
Are you one to always buy a fresh turkey and spend all day cooking or hop online and place an order for pick up? Both ways you get a delicious meal! If you are cooking, remember to thaw your turkey in plenty of time and be prepared for your cooking method. Rosemary and sage are sure to make any home smell delicious. If this is not for you, many restaurants will be offering a Thanksgiving meal you can pick up and unpack. Local eats are also offering individual turkey packages for at home delivery! All you will have to do is just warm it up and eat. If you want a personal touch but also more time with the family, spend time cooking a few family favorites then order the rest!
Place settings.
Since you are probably not having a twenty plus gathering this year, make it extra special! You can go all out on table decorations, make cute place settings, and maybe even order a few new serving dishes just to spruce it up this year. Some ideas could include keeping it simple and grabbing a few large, great looking apples, and use a puff paint to write everyone’s name on their apple and place it at their setting. I know you are thinking, apples? Really? It will be a showstopper. If you like the more elegant look, you can order some beautiful name cards from Etsy. Either way go, all you need is some fresh flowers, small pumpkins and a few candles for a thanksgiving worthy table setting!
Virtual thanks.
Gatherings are different this year and that could mean that some of the key family members will not be able to attend. Set aside time on Thanksgiving Day to call your loved ones. Some new ideas this year is to create a virtual environment that you can even utilize for big groups. This is the perfect time to go around and remember what the day is about and give thanks. Even though it’s been a rough year, you and your family can think of reasons to be extra thankful. If you want a fun idea, you can choose a host, and everyone mail the host a card with what they are thankful for this year. They host will have them all set up in the background. If you don’t have an iPhone, you can set up a zoom meeting. This platform is very user friendly and the perfect way to feel like you are all together.
