Progress Continues at Lennar-Led Home Builders Association of Greater Austin 2020 Benefit Home Supporting Central Texas Homeless Population

While COVID-19 has certainly impacted business operations across Central Texas, it has also had a detrimental impact on the region’s homeless population. These individuals are among the most vulnerable during normal times, but COVID-19 has left them in an even more precarious situation, lacking critical resources and the most basic needs.

Fortunately, the Home Builders Association of Greater Austin 2020 Benefit Home, led by Lennar Homes under its luxury brand, Village Builders, continues to make great progress at The Retreat at Steiner Ranch, having recently completed the framing stage.

Proceeds from the sale of this home will be donated to the HBA, who in turn will donate a significant portion to HomeAid Austin, a non-profit organization dedicated to building new lives for Austin’s individuals and families experiencing homelessness through housing and community outreach.

“Giving back to the community is part of the DNA at Lennar, and the company is thrilled to join forces with the HBA and HomeAid Austin to support this year’s Benefit Home,” said Charlie Coleman, Division President for Lennar Homes. “Bringing businesses and resources together to help Austin’s homeless population is important year-round, and even more so during this challenging time presented by COVID-19.”

The annual Benefit Home project involves the construction of a new home built by a sponsoring builder/developer, with additional donations of construction management, materials, supplies, labor and monies of Home Builders Association members.

A significant number of vendors have already stepped up to be part of this worthy cause, including:

  • Blanco Concrete
  • Casa Mechanical
  • Creative Custom Cabinets
  • Denbow Company
  • Dig Dug
  • In Charge Electrical Services
  • Lennox
  • Monreal Framing
  • SEC Planning
  • Summit Stoneworks
  • Victory Plumbing
  • Wilson Roofing

Lennar’s Village Builder design will be based on the appealing Avondale floor plan. Spanning over 2,500 square feet, the home features four bedrooms, three bathrooms and a two-car garage. Highlights of this open, inviting layout include an expansive great room, covered patio, spacious kitchen and dining areas, and a stunning master suite.

The location of this year’s Benefit Home could not be more impressive. Steiner Ranch is an award-winning community located right along beautiful Lake Austin and Lake Travis in northwest Austin, offering ample family-friendly amenities, exceptional schools and acres of greenbelts and hiking and biking trails to explore Hill Country wildlife.

Giving back to the community is part of the DNA at Lennar, and the company is thrilled to join forces with the HBA and HomeAid Austin to support this year’s Benefit Home. Bringing businesses and resources together to help Austin’s homeless population is important year-round, and even more so during this challenging time presented by COVID-19.
