Celebrate Healthcare Heroes During National Certified Nurses Day—and Beyond

National Certified Nurses Day

“Nurse,” from the Latin, nutricius, a word that  looks a whole lot like “nutritious.” Well, when it comes to being nursed, we all know what it’s like to be cared for, tended to and looked after, healed, loved. Especially now, when nurses are on the front of the front line.

These days, National Certified Nurses Day takes on an even deeper meaning.

The American Nurses Credentialing Center, which offers supplementary certifications to registered nurses, started the annual day of appreciation in 2008. The ANCC chose March 19, the birthdate of an RN who pushed for stricter standards. (In May, National Nurses Week honors all 3.8 million U.S., state-licensed registered nurses, ANCC-certified or not.)
Nearly 55,000 nurses work in three of the Metroplex’s largest counties. Healthcare, in fact, comprises six of the largest 25 employers in North Texas, according to a 2020 report

That means you either work in healthcare or an affiliated industry. More likely, you live near a nurse. When you own a new home in any of Lennar’s 73 communities throughout the Metroplex, you can rest assured that you’re within minutes of world-class nursing care.

Consider Bluebonnet Estates, a brand new community that offers new homes to purchase in Ennis, TX. Bluebonnet Estates sits about 5 minutes away from the Ennis Regional Medical Center, a renowned hospital within the city of Ennis.

Storied alumnae from the school, established in 1909, include Hattie Brantley and Earlyn Marie “Blackie” Black, among the first women ever sent into combat. Both lieutenants, they were prisoners of war and survived the World War II horrors of Bataan and Corregidor.

Far north of Bluebonnet Estates, Lennar’s serene—and healthful—Fireside Park, with new homes for sale in Denton, TX, is situated virtually around the corner from Medical City Denton. With some 6,000 nurses, the massive healthcare center is just 7 miles away from Fireside Park; a nurse walks as many as 5 miles during an average 12-hour shift, according to the ANCC.

Another Lennar community, Highbridge, offers excellent access to terrific nursing care, with Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Kaufman 14 miles from home. The community offers new homes for sale in Crandall, TX, “A Proud City Where You Belong,” its motto says. Desirable, value-rich Highbridge is just 2 miles from a town aptly named … Heartland.

Home, indeed, is where the body’s most important organ is. In Lennar’s new homes, like our bodies that nurses care for, Everything’s Included®. That’s Lennar’s suite of standard upgrades other homebuilders consider add-ons, passing costs on to you. In Fireside Park, Lennar’s new homes include brains, too: robust smart-home technology.
