Monroe hosts many special community and sporting events throughout the year, such as fun runs, holiday events, outdoor concerts and cycling criteriums. Lake Tye Park is home to events ranging from Music in the Park, Movies Under the Moon, National Nights Out, Monroe’s Community Easter Egg Hunt and Shakespeare in the Park.

Trail access and a landscaped picnic area on the southwestern tip of the park can be accessed by crossing the pedestrian bridge from Lewis Street Park. A gravel road along the eastern edge from Simon Road provides both trail and river access for fishers and others.
